that would depend on what role/champions you play

  1. Keep wards up when you advance in lane.
  2. Don't engage in risky behavior in your lane (i.e. going for a kill if you're unsure whether you can handle the other champ).
  3. Fulfill your role properly (Jg: jungle quickly, gank often, and kill the dragon; Supp: protect the ADC and don't kill steal; etc.)
  4. Communicate with your team with pings and chat.
  5. Know beforehand what you want your end build to look like and in which order to buy your items.
  6. CS CS CS. Always go for the last hit on minions and farm as much as possible.

1.) Ganking as jungler wins games but also costs games if you fail gank or throw off your teams lane especially when you are running a jungler tank and don't know what you are doing you will upset your team, and get reported too, so understanding when to gank, and when not to is important, I assume you are not level 30 yet so there is a lot of time to actually learn this.

2.) You can use the item builder to preset item builds, masteries, and runes before you enter a game.

3.) Do some research on champions you like to play find your play style what works better some are better with some things than they are with others for me its mages/assassins, and with a really good pre-made team I can do tanks.

4.) Do not use the exact same builds every time in games take for example if you are playing Katarina you encounter aMalzahar you build a item 3140 to counter him, if you get matched into a Swain you build a item 3165 and that is just some of what you can do while rushing item 3010 quite often goes for lane sustain on certain champions like Annie Brand champions where you have a hard time in lane, and also these items benefit your team more.

5.) Understand your team composition, this is where games get thrown I see people playing all kids of champions that just don't make sense, you get a Shaco for one example but late game he really isn't going to benefit your team as much as other champions, and I am personally tired of seeing Blitzcrank and Thresh when your team is running an all in team composition for example.

Fiora Top Katarina or Akali Mid Caitlyn ADC

Then what players should be doing is running something like

Leona Support Sejuani Jungle

But instead I commonly see this, and this is often what will throw off games.

Blitzcrank Thresh They are not all in team fighting champions and there are better picks for an all in the fight.

Understand when to take summoner 14 vs when to take summoner 1 and which is better as well as taking summoner 3 more-less when you run a top lane.

There is a lot to learn but when you don't know something there is the Wiki Which can help you understand how to counter when you don't know something but know who you are playing against while in loading alt tab look up the information

http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/League_of_Legends_Wiki

http://www.championselect.net (Not always accurate) but it helps a bit.

6.) The game is generally about (CS) but there is so much more to playing in a MOBA while mostly talked about in DOTA 2, there is a thing called Zoning, Denial making your enemy miss CS, as well as

7.) The reason an all in team comp usually I find gets my teams the most wins in Solo Q, or Draft is because often you are matched with unskilled players who will drag out a game forever, you get either Feeders, or a lane or two who lose, and that puts your team behind, so then the enemy team will often push fights down mid lane and if you have champions like Thresh, or Blitzcrank this is where you will often lose the fights if the enemy team has better team composition, or even for that matter is way ahead. So basically you need something that will make sure your team wins a all in group fight or at least has a chance to unless you run pre-made teams, or Duo. (in General a good jungler + Mid laner) can make a big difference with a bottom lane of two players who did really bad.)

Nasus Is often a champion I play with in low ELO who has a high loss rate often he gets camped, other players lose badly, and then the game is over because Nasus simply doesn't get enough stacks to carry with.

In general what I am saying is it is often better to look at what champions would benefit the team more if you want to win a lot of games and think about the game-play itself.

8.) Obviously mastering things like Ward jumping, Dropping Wards in a bush in a fight as you pass through can mean the difference between a won fight and a lost fight, as well as what to build on a support champion for support items and such, and if you are looking for an easy win composition in the lower ranks Galio mid is an Anti Mage, even Galio support, and get in on group fights earlier where you pop ultimate and you have everyone just finish the enemy carries while they are taunted because they often don't take summoner 1 or get a item 3140

Hopefully it helps a bit.

Hello Malfetes,

I'm a new player ( level 6 at the time of this post ) and I've found some pretty cool stuff on YouTube that I've been watching that's made a lot of sense to me.

The first of which is a channel run by "ProfGonGoon" ( IGN GonGoon, Diamond V NA ) about "Leagueology" that talks about trading, objectives, leaving lane, etc. You can see his content @ https://www.youtube.com/user/ProfGonGoon/feed and hopefully pick up a few things.

Another channel I've really enjoyed is HuzzyGames. He was recently invited to ( and accepted the invite from ) team Dignitas as a streamer/YouTuber and has several different series. He is currently a Diamond player in ( I might be wrong ) EU-West and if I remember right currently boasts a 100% winrate with Sion. Unlike the majority of the live game commentaries I've seen, his have a lot of good information and cussing seems to be kept to a minimum. You can check https://www.youtube.com/user/HuzzyGames/videos to see his goods.

Finally, I found some videos on something called the "PBE" which strikes me as a sort of test server full of possible LoL updates. I'd imagine it would be a good idea to keep an eye out for people who stream/YouTube PBE content as being able to get a glimpse of the future might help out our gameplay. So far I've enjoyed the channels JV1HD, TheMegansFox, and Redmercy ( https://www.youtube.com/user/J1VHD / https://www.youtube.com/user/TheMegansFox / https://www.youtube.com/user/Redmercy ) but have also found the Brofresco's channel ( https://www.youtube.com/user/BroFresco ) informative/impressive when I can tolerate his large sum of cussing.

Hope this helps you mate; Mr. Beane.

The other tips on here are real nice, especially some of the youtube links, but something i haven't seen (its late, i might have missed it) is knowing when your champ hits their stride. Imo, its how you win your lane.

if I'm playing Cassiopeia, i know my lvl 2 will beat almost anyone in the game's. i keep my mana up early, and i make sure that i hit 2 first, and then i run my opponent out of lane. it gives me a cs, xp, and mental lead.

on Azir, its different. I'm not getting strong till i have that morellos, and maybe a nashors or a different second item if I'm going against a lane bully. I'm not going to rush that lvl 2, because it's not worth the risk.

Malzahar is a power spike with his ult. he hits that spike at the right time, and he can kill anyone alone. he's just too good of a duelist.

The point of this is that sometimes its just having one more ability (most adcs) sometimes it's an item, sometimes its your ult. but every champ has that 'oh NOW I've got you' point, and as long as you hit yours at a better time than(not necessarily before) your opponent, you'll have a big advantage.

The flip side of this is knowing your opponents spikes. playing against a Cassiopeia? either crush her lvl 1 when she's got no power, or keep your distance at 2.

against Azir? make him burn mana, he ain't killing you early. Don't be dumb, but make him pay for CS and poking.

against Malzahar? 2 options. one, run from him @ 6 and/or stay really healthy, OR, have a jungler waiting. malz will REALLY wanna trade, so your jungler gets 2.5 sec of malz sitting still to channel, and that's a dead malz.

If you know your power spikes, and your opponents, then knowing when to trade is much easier, and more beneficial, than just AAing them in the face every now and then. (but still do that)
