Tiny little question about Draaaaaaven(Draven)

So I'm playing Draven a lot lately, he's a good adcounter that can catch people off guard letting you snowball for a free win if you win the bejesus out of your lane. His mechanics though confusing at first seem rather simple now but one thing still remains unclear. Like we all know Draven's spinning axe can be made to land in specific places to a certain extent in relationship to Draven by making a movement comand between his aa animation firing and the aa actually hitting but what I don't want to know is if his movement speed effects the distance his axe will land from him in the direction he decides to move, if so whether or not his bonus movement speed has an affect(boots, w, etc.) and when exactly this number is calculated(aa firing or hitting enemy). I'm working on my finer mechanics and I feel as if having an understanding of this would help me time out my blood rush cast in relationship to my aa animation to fully utilize all the control over the axe's landing spot.

everything is calculated when the axe actually hits the enemy

so if you like throw an axe then flash backwards but then walk forward when the axe hits the enemy your axe will lane infront of you

Right right, I understand that, but what determines the distance from Draven the axe will land(z) provided he's moving in x direction at y velocity is z a function of x and y or just of x?
