Help, I'm getting worse at the game

Especially recently, I find myself been feeding almost every game and having a miserable time. I lose all the time because of it and my teammates rage at me. I used to be able to consistently carry every single game, but as time goes on, my opponents aren't getting better, I'm just getting worse. Any tips on how to fix this?

Are you playing the same champion, or switching it up?

I had a real bad streak a while back. I broke out of it by turning off ALL chat, and making liberal use of the mute button (sometimes muting players at the very start of the game if they seemed like jerks in champ select). Do it. I had also been playing a lot of different champions, but wasn't very good at any of them. Instead, I started playing one champ that I really liked (VI) over and over and over, whenever possible. My win rate spiked to almost 90% for a couple of weeks, it was nuts.

Sometimes just before your ability increases a large amount, you have a rough patch. This could be your issue. Or it might be something else. Hang in there, and take my advice about muting people to heart!

Try to harrass when the opponent goes for last hitting a minion, usually they just go for the CS rather than retaliate. That on itself is a really strong tactic. Also better map awareness and anticipation can make you a lot better.

Early lane you have 3 jobs, Damage Trade - Farm - Watch for Gank. Often is the case you will fall behind because of one of these three things.

You need to see when and where things go wrong. Stating that you feed leaves me to think you either have poor trades, get ganked, or a combo of the two. Try and only be aggressive when you know where is jungler is, or isn't (IE- your brush). MID is the easiest lane to gank since there are 4 blind spots to come in from, so you will be the easiest pick if top and bottom are pushed back into allied territory. WARD WARD WARD. If their Bot lane is winning ward the bottom brush , top winning then ward the top brush. If other lanes roam on you make them waste their time.

When trading watch your mana. If you play 1 champion all the time, like Xerath, then you know your damage potential, now learn how much mana your burst costs, and how much mana that will take roughly around the time you will want to go all in ( like lvl 6).

Killing is not everything. A lot of wounded champions will dance behind their tower, scared to go back because they will miss CS or EXP. Wait for a cannon wave to push their tower and just go get some items. You want to minimize your time in town, but if you have to wait for the lane to reset because they are scared to come out then you may as well pick up another item to kill them with. You might even get a head start on them since they will be struggling to clear the tower (Which helps the lane reset). Don't give the jungle a chance to pounce and throw away your winning exchange because you're blood thirsty. Some lanes are just slower than others, and that's how it is. Lock down the enemy MID, if you can make them invest in every CS and work for their farm they will get sloppy. They will panic and make a mistake or slowly fall behind. This also forces their jungler to babysit and this only aids the other lanes.

If they are high mobility champions, like Ahri , Zed , Leblanc . Make a point to wreck their tower when ever they are gone and Ward the enemies patch to bottom through their jungle. Mid + Jungle + Bot lane = free dragon. If they move you move, but if you cannot help it, or damage is done, hammer on their tower.

If they're a farm champ, like Anivia , or Ziggs try and not get over whelmed by minions. Watch your mana and try and push them from lane as much as you can. They are only strong while they can farm. Just don't whittle yourself down to nothing poking them while you wait for a gank. Getting the jungle to remove summoner 4 should take some pressure off of their push.

I will end with something that really helped me. I was gone for about 5 months and I quit because if pretty much the same thing you are talking about. I main jungle, and doing so really give you a perspective that the other lanes don't. You see the fights going on from a 3rd person and see the same mistakes happen over and over again. You suggest something and get BLOWN UP for not knowing what you are talking about. But you see it OVER AND OVER from the same people, doing the same... stupid... thing...

You as the player don't see it that way, you are in the zone and you are trying to accomplish a task, but we have not trained ourselves to approach it from other angles. Play other roles and get a fresh look at the game OR watch the Pros play. I enjoy watching Theoddone on Twitch because he explains everything and will admit when he messed up and he gives you a run down of why and what happened. Is he the greatest player in the world? No. But he is clear and informative and very involved with his stream.
