I Play with my friend 90% of the time. Who is level 30. And other ppl who are above 20. Should I but runes. Because I'm playing ppl who have runes. To keep up. My stats
I'd recommend buying tier 1 runes for the slots you've currently got. A single first win of the day game will pretty much let you fill out a rune page and in the long run the extra stats should pay for themselves in IP. Once you hit 20 of course you can then start grabbing Tier 3 runes which are what you'll want long term.
Ignore the Rioter who responded. Don't buy them. In 3 levels you unlock access to the best tier runes in the game. So if you are going to fill out a Rune Page, save them up until you hit 20.
I wouldn't buy Tier 1 runes anymore.
You'll have to keep turning off the Tier 1 checkbox so they don't block your real runes later on. You can't get rid of them ever.
Tier 1 Runes = Riot Herpes
Don't ever waste IP on anything but Tier 3 runes. Everything else is worthless and furthermore clutters your rune pages later on.
Tier 1 and 2 are pretty much just noob traps. Hopefully Riot does something about the entire system sooner rather than later (fingers crossed for this years preseason).
No, worst mistake you could make. Keep hoarding your IP until lvl 30, but you still wont have enough to build a proper specialized page for the role you play the most(so you could at least have runes for your main champions), so I suggest purchasing an IP boost. If that's out of the question, then just grind untill you have enough IP to comfortably build a generic rune page that will fit the role you enjoy the most across all its corresponding champions.
Don't ever spend your ip on Runes that are lower than tier 3. I hate the rune system and everything about it is a needless ip grind but you need the tier 3 to be on even footing with everybody else once you start ranked.

As the runes are right now buying tier 1 and 2 are a waste of IP since they are quite expensive and there is no way to sell them or trade them for tier 3, plus the benefit is minimal. Wait for tier 3
you can easily buy 1 generic ad and one generic ap runepage with tier 1 runes, they are pretty cost-efficient. Just stay away from Tier 2 runes, they are a trap!
Oh no, I bought tier 1 runes. Now I can't buy that 1 armor seal I've been saving up for months to buy. Woe is me!
I got the same advice when I was leveling up from people, they said dont get tier 1 or 2 runes theyre a waste of IP
Kinda feel like those people are total idiots though, considering how insanely cheap t1 and 2 runes are and what a difference they'd have made when I was trying to learn how to jungle etc.
For basically the price of nothing at all you can get tier 1 runes in every slot and theyre about 50% effective compared to t3. they're actually a great bargain that help you not be at such a disadvantage compared to higher level players

Ide recommend waiting until 30 to buy the tier 1 runes. What I would start doing asap however, is start building up IP so when you hit 30 you'll have around 20k worth of IP to build some worthwhile pages.
I would also start getting really really good at a handful of champs that would work well with a standard AP/AD rune page.
Never buy tier 1-2 runes. Ever. They're just so ew and its best to just level up and then spend your RP on champs and tier 3 runes.
