Questions about A.d.carrying

Recently I bought the champ Jinx, and well I'm terrible at adc. Are their any tips that are key to playing an adc at an okay level. For instance I was bottom lane against a Caitlyn and I couldn't even touch her! She was a menacing force to be reckoned with due to her escape and range I could occasionally poke her with my Fish Bones but I could not do enough damage. I digress as well I'm not high enough to play ranked matches either; in all reality I want to achieve at least silver (hopefully!). Sorry if I got the board wrong.

Jinx requires really good positoning and fast decision-making. I'm saying this because

  1. She doesn't have escape - Should I use my Flame Chompers to follow up my support's CC or save it for when I need to escape ganks? (nvm her flame chompers is not even a real escape lol)
  2. Abusing your passive - should I dive this level 2 (never a good decision though xd)? Would I be able to get out ASAP with my passive? Should I go ham 1v3? Will this Lucian die so that I can proc my passive to escape?

Tips & Tricks!!!!!!

  1. Use your flame chompers to follow up Thresh/Blitz hooks by placing the chompers slightly behind of the hooked enemy.
  2. Don't use your ultimate to initiate, your ultimate is an EXECUTION (deals physical dmg+max missing health)!!!!!!!!!
  3. Abuse your passive
  4. yep that's about it 8)

I used to play Jinx a lot with 26/10 W/L in normals with her, but then I stopped playing her because of how vulnerable she is. How team dependent she is. If your team can't peel for you, you really need to rely on positioning and using your passive, escape (E) well. She works well with Threshes that can back her up by placing lantern to escape~~~~~

I suggest you to play "easy" ADCs like Caitlyn, Tristana first before starting to play immobile ADCs like Jinx. Jinx is not mechanically difficult (not for me at least), but seriously she's team dependent af, positoning-reliant and requires good decision making imo. She is not really a good champion in Solo Queue against a bunch of assassins like Rengar, Zed, Fizz.

I'm not saying that Jinx is trash, a fed Jinx would be a pain in the ass. She needs to be immobile. If she is a tower pusher, has long range poke, has global execution, then she can't have a fuking dash like Graves, like Lucian, pretty logical.

I would start with an easier adc... jinx is the hardest adc for me to use. that may just be a personality quirk though :P caits good.

yeah jinx is fairly difficult, but she's my favorite champ so I'll tell you how to play against caitlyn

you really have to be a master of micromanaging switching between rocket and minigun form, because every time cait comes in to auto you, you want to switch to rockets and hit her back - don't ever let her get free poke on you - then switch to minigun when you attack minions. It's pretty common that you'll have to switch between every auto attack, last hit a minion, poke the enemy, repeat.

You can last hit with rockets, but that will push the wave and that's generally a bad idea, you want to keep the wave frozen near your tower as much as possible because jinx is pretty easy to gank when she's pushed... Kind of. You can usually get away if you use your traps well.

Jinx is all about positioning...which makes her difficult for a first timer to use...however she is immensely fun. As people have said...if you have a blitz, thresh, or even a Leona on your team who can dive in...be prepared to toss out your chompers immediately behind them to negate effective escapes. When dealing with long range champs long caitlyn...remember that your zap is fairly long range as well as when you switch to rockets. Using rockets for the occasional long range poke is quite effective...just keep an eye on your mana pool.

Because of Zap and rockets her range is fairly solid....keep yourself at max range as much as possible and just poke...rely on your support to initiate any all in and remember you get huge movement speed buffs on kills and assists, even tower kills...so if you see someone to snipe...even if it's across the map...give it a shot with your ult. If you're lucky....you can time a long range snipe to mid or top for a kill to give you the movement speed to get a hard initiate and chase on your own lane.

Zap may have the strongest AD scaling of any ability in game. Use it EVERY time you land Flame Chompers. Also, use it to check brush- it's got a low CD and reveals anyone it hits.

Flame Chompers is not a very strong escape- use it to zone enemies in teamfights and prevent them from escaping.

Build an Essence Reaver (Note: Jinks is the only champ who I would ever build this item on.). It allows her to recoup the cost of her rockets by farming. This is an incredible help with your poke, since it allows you to not worry so much about mana costs, which are a bit high for her. You can sell this once you have a full build, since she has great mana and mana regen scaling per level.

Your ult is an execute. Use it to clean up after teamfights, or kill single enemies in other lanes after they try to escape their lane opponent.

Skill leveling priority- Get a point in Q first. Then, a point in W, another in Q, then 1 in E. Finish leveling W, then max Q. Exceptions- Against Cait/Ashe/Kog, 2 points in W, then max Q.

Only commit if you can get a kill. However, don't worry too much about escapes- your passive gives you a ton of movement speed so you can escape most of the time.

Good luck on Summoner's Rift!
