Practice in normals.

As the jungler, you have the most freedom to make plays. If you see someone overextended, ping them and gank. Dragon is a little harder to take now that you can't solo it anymore, so you need your botlane's help. Try to gank bot when you see the opportunity and send the enemy bot back to base at least, then take dragon. Ward the river near the mid so you can see the enemy mid coming.

Ganks > farm. Even with champs that can farm the jungle nonstop MasterYi Nunu Warwick XinZhao you NEED to help your team out frequently. No matter how much you farm, you can't solo carry, especially if enemy jungler made early ganks and got his friends kills.

And for the love of god, gank for your Nasus. If he is a good Nasus he will have his lane shoved in, and his wither makes the enemy helpless in ganks. Babysitting Nasus is the easiest way to get fed as a jungler, and if you can get Nasus far enough ahead that he can farm without fear, then he will get stacking and GG.

Try and gank the lanes that have carry potential :) For example bot lane kills the enemy bot lane 2v2, id defiantly pay a visit down there asap to further their lead. they've already prove they have what it takes.

Then comes the lanes that are feeding...its kind of hard to gank for them cause the enemy laner can just kill you both, so id refrain from ganking those lanes, unless you know you can kill them 100%. Maybe say a few kind words to the "feeder"? Let him know you do care!, but there really isn;t anything you can do, even if you do gank.

if i see a laner getting pressured alot, but really isnt feeding, and the cs gap is small but appears to be raising quick (would lead to your enemy dying eventually), i try and gank those asap to prevent your laner from falling behind, you dont want that. Even if you just run in, burst your combo on the enemy laner and leave. you took hp from him. which helps the laner a ton.

the most important thing in jungling is clearing your jungle while being safe. its the same as lasthitting in lane. everything else comes second.

pick your favorite jungle champion or the one you want to learn, build a runepage and mastery page for him and try clearing the jungle in a custom game in different routes. see if you need more clearingpower in your runes and masteries or if you can even cut some clearingpower for things that scale better into ganks or midgame duels/fights.

if you found yourself a couple of nicely clearable routes and follow-ups to them (when you want to recall depending on your gold, when you want to gank depending on your current power level after clearing/recalling), you can go try your ways in normals until you feel confident. takes about 3-10 games.

then you can decide weither this jungler and this playstyle is the right one for you or you rather want to learn another one. then pick anothe champion and start from square 1.

this is how you learn jungling.

Don't be afraid to buy wards if you have extra money. Vision is important to you and your entire team. You're going to be running through the river a lot and that puts you in a very vulnerable position if you have no vision.

Early game think about what teammate would snowball the hardest and camp their lane a bit. Its a bit of a dirty tactic, but it will make it easier for you to gank other lanes later. And it always nice to have another fed teammate helping with the ganks. :)

If your laner has a sliver of health and needs to back, offer to cover their lane. It does reveal your position to the enemy team but it will keep damage off your tower, keep your teammate alive, and you'll get some farm. Only shove it in if the enemy laner is gone. Otherwise just last hit until your teammate returns. They will love you for it.

Ping when you are going to a lane for ganks. In bot especially there's issues of people tunnel visioning while they farm. A small ping can help alert them that you are about to join then and try to make a play. Communication is key. ;D

Prep for taking dragon whenever you can. Keep vision around the pit as much as possible and later do the same for Baron. Both have very important buffs so denying them from the enemy is a big deal.

Mid to late game, give the red buff over to the adc. The slow helps a lot in the 5v5s and works great in combination with their late game items.

How to learn jungle.

Step 1: Purchase Warwick .
Step 2: Spam teambuilder as jungle Warwick until you've got a hang on how to clear well, what paths to take, how to gank and how to invade and/or deal with an invade. You're picking jungle, so the time to find a match should be short. Step 3: Think "Man, I'm getting decent at this, but Warwick has so little to offer beyond his ult." or "This is fun, but I wish I could gank before level 6" Step 4: Start trying out other junglers now that you have the hang of the role in it's basic form. You'll eventually find a champ you like.

Optional (AKA: Step 5): Now that you know jungle well, try out oddball jungle champs for lulz. My current favorite is AP Gangplank w/ Runeglaive. Hilarious.

Choose a champ you want to jungle with.

Check out probuilds.net and see what runes/masteries/items the pros use on that champion.

Create a custom game with 1 bot and see how easy or hard it is for you to clear the jungle.

Once you feel comfortable clearing the jungle in a custom game try some normals.

Spend at least 50% of your time looking at the minimap or checking on other lanes to see how they are doing (playing locked screen with a jungler is near impossible.) You don't need to worry about last hitting so you should not be spending much time staring at the jungle camp you are killing. You are your team's eyes and its your job to spot rotations and incoming ganks. Map awareness is the most important thing for a jungler to have.

Efficiency is key in jungling. Your ganks need to be impactful but you also need to spend time farming otherwise you will fall behind in gold and levels. At first mainly look to gank lanes that are pushed to your side of the river. If no gank opportunity presents itself don't try to force it just power farm and get wards down for your team.

Warding is key. Build sightstone if you think you can get away with it and grab an early pink. You can only help gank one lane at a time but if you keep wards up you can protect your other lanes and prevent their jungler from having any meaningful impact.

the main thing is decision making which comes with experience. things like which lanes to gank and how to gank them to things like fighting over dragon and baron and when it is safe to do so. My main tip would be learn a two or three champions you like the play style of and just play and experiment different kinds of ganks whether through lane or the river and be completely aware on how to execute them. Ill guarantee mistakes are always made and you'll learn from them. Keep an open mind and communicate with your team about objectives and timers. Which comes to another thing, know and keep track of your jungle timers whether they are red or blue buff or dragon or baron because in higher elo that will get punished and is very unforgiving if a buff gets stolen early on cause you left it up too long or not knowing when drag is back up to contest.

some good junglers to consider: Gragas - very strong ganks both pre and post six with descent clear speed and passive and cc to thrive in the tank meta Zac - no mana issues, has great AOE clear speed and sustain in jungle and has crazy gank set ups from long distances with the range of E when maxing it. Nunu - easy champ to play with god-like sustain and objective control, but you will have to get used to counter jungling to punish and abuse the apposing jungler Yorick - ranged AOE slow and has sustain equal to that of a nunu with a lot more dueling potential that supports heavy invades and counter jungling and has very good scaling utility with his ult making it a 6v5 in your favor Diana - i used to play her a lot and she has grear AOE clearing and has less mana issues now from runeglaive, great AP assassin to mix things up in the jungle MonkeyKing or Maokai or Pantheon - all have point and click cc and gap closers that team fight well and fit well with team fight heavy comps while being tanky and still doing damage Vi - can either build AD or tank or a combo of both, great gank potential with two gap closers and percentage health damage and built in armor shred, put that with a black clever and all of a sudden tank fall faster than the adc will.

best of luck in the jungle and hope you have fun while doing well, especially against the dreaded gromp lol feel free to give your feed back on what you think about this list or any other junglers that work well with you cause im always glad to learn something new.

happy smiting :)

Well first of all you have to learn a good jungler. People don't really like warwick right now but I think hes pretty good because you can kill the enemies big wolf then take its place. No one will notice and when their jungler comes to kill their wolf camp they will get a big surprise (please note I only tried this one time in a bronze game).
