Maintaining focus in ranked

So I climbed out of bronze by stating to main one champ and working to get better. Ran up to silver 4 pretty easy but bumped back down to 5 playing stuff I wasn't as used to to expand my champ pool. Failed promos twice, and hit a 3 game losing streak on this second after going 1-1, and I feel like each loss I can pin point something I did that lost the game.

I was playing well for the most part each game, but made a mistake and either went on tilt after, or the enemy was able to finish off of the mistake bc of death timers. One game I tried to help a jungle who was getting invaded and ended up getting killed myself as the jungle was dead right when I got there and I was 2v1, so suddenly a lane I was up in cs and a level turned really bad, and another where I was doing well, and then my team got caught out in a 4v5 and I tried to tp in and fed a kill instead of just letting it be a 3-0 team loss and holding w/ my one surviving teammate.

How do you keep your focus on and make the right decisions in ranked? I feel like I'll jump up at least a couple ranks if not all the way to silver 1/gold 5 if I can figure this out because even if it's just a few (although honestly it's at least 3 of every 5 losses) that change then it will boost my win percentage and I'll climb more. A lot of the time I can look at a game and say "these two or three calls I could have done different would have helped my team stay in it and we could have won" but in the moment if I haven't had the experience recently of making the type of call at hand and thinking of the right decision in game I try to react fast and pick wrong bc I don't think, or think about it and don't react in time. So yeah, see the title, and let me know if you have tips or tricks to how to do it.

Hey man you're definitely on the right track to climb and have a great outlook in general. Good decision making will carry you further than mechanics will. A streamer I heard once (forgot who) said the game is purely based on mistakes; there is always a right and wrong decision to make. This is something that you can only learn with time. The team that makes the least mistakes will likely win, but you also have to learn to capitalize on their mistakes as well. There is no magical advice I can give you, it's all about your game knowledge.

For example, I main Irelia top and I do the same thing almost every game. Early lane I play almost exclusively passive (usually let them shove under my turret) and farm until I can afford item 3057 . With lvl 6 + sheen I am very strong and can usually score a kill even in the worst match ups. Sometimes they are sitting in lane and I know 100% they are dead, yet they are clueless. Because of how much experience I have on this champ I know what I can and cannot do at any given time and therefore decision making becomes A LOT easier. The best players in the game will make decisions unconsciously. For example, the enemy wastes a key ability and they automatically respond by going all in for a free kill without even thinking about it.This doesn't only apply to knowing your champions limitations. EX. The enemy team is on Baron and you can predict when they will finish it or when someone will arrive back to the lane after recalling.

A few general tips:

If your are doing really well, possibly the most fed in the game, you want to be in every fight you can.

ALWAYS assume that your team will fight or get caught in the 4v5 if you aren't there. If this happens don't waste time defending turrets 1v4; farm jungle camps if you have too.

It can be rough to deal with, but just because your team mate who is caught out is pinging for assistance you don't have to run in. They may rage or blame you, but you have to ignore it and move on. I usually say nothing in response in this situation. The more your team is typing random shit the less your chance of winning.

I used to tense up and even hold my breathe in close late game team fights or 1v1 situations. Don't forget to breathe.

I wrote some more, but accidentally deleted it. If you want to talk feel free to add me I'm usually on my other account (BanelingrushGG) recently.

I recommend you think a lot about what you think is good in a lot of situations when you're not even playing the game. Then when the time comes, you have a real plan, and then can just try to follow that plan. So much of this game just comes down to figuring out what is the right thing that you should be trying to do. If you can understand it you'll be a lot more successful.

Things like losing a 2v1 in the jungle really just come down to map awareness and a good idea of how the fights around you are going. With enough practice you should ready to tell your teammate has lost the fight and just not go in when that happens.

You literally have to say to yourself: "I've got to carry every single match I play." If you let up for a single moment your team will pick that time to feed/throw the game.

You learn to make the right decisions through experience, and the best way to gain experience is by making mistakes :)
