Solo Q Mindset Important Tip for all ELOs - Avoiding Tilt

Qualifications: I'm Diamond 5 this season and last season.

I don't go on tilt very often but when I do, I choose Dos Equis.

Just kidding. In SoloQ I find that a lot of players across all elos (I have 4 accounts between g5 -> D5) tilt very easily. I just read a board post asking for help to avoid tilt. So I figured I'd copy + paste this post.

I personally try to find satisfaction in that I played well and that sometimes you just lose. Knowing that I played well with only a few errors tells me that if I play that consistently, eventually I'll rise in ELO. If I don't, it means I belong in D5 forever. Also, if you're worried about AFKers, the Leaverbuster system really does work. I've been busted on my smurf before. And statistically you are going to have as many AFKs on your enemy team as on your own team. It's a part of Solo Q.

I also criticize myself harder rather than my teammates. Even what little viewers I have left (I used to stream a lot) admit that some games just aren't my fault. But I always find fault within myself. BUT - If you look on my match history for solo Q ranked, I'm like 2-8. Some of my lost games I do really well. Example: 8-4 score with Ziggs. I still gave up 2 shutdowns which is BAD. I also had a 5-3 Jinx game. What if I didn't get caught those 3 times?

Each shutdown you give can be up to +800g to your enemy team. So I can't really justify my 8-4 Ziggs score because those 4 deaths can add up to 3k to my enemy team.

I'm a bit confused, what exactly IS tilt?

Letting previous emotions affect your present game. For example, your team was 43-20, have both nexus towers, but got aced at baron. They surrender and then your anger carries on to your next game, causing you to be more irritable and play less rationally
