How To CS while being harassed in lane as an ADC

So i played a few games in 5v5 Ranked and each game i kept getting poked down and harassed when Im trying to cs. I need some tips just for early game because late game i rely on my team mates for pushing and all that other stuff. Should i start trying to zone out players and harass them too or try to make trades when they harass me?

Try to make trades with the enemy, Don't ever let them get free damage on you since it will allow them an easy all in and potential kill shortly.

When I come across high harass, I tend to void my vulnerability to them as much as possible. High harass players will then often target my minions. I can then safely do the tower huddle as I level up and, once my jungler is ready, he can sneak in and we can easily dispose of the pest problem. Two kills gives one high advantages towards pokers.

Your support probably doesn't have much presence in lane. If you have a skillshot support, they should always walk where they can hit the enemy so that the enemy would know that there is a threat of being hooked/snared/poked, means he have to do multi tasking, cs and dodge. That way he'd harass less. Also, you have to have a good positioning.

Depends on the champion you play, your support, enemy adc, enemy support but all I can say. Minions have more use than just being gold.

You should always be working to poke your opponent out of lane. Farming should be something you do on the side, which is why it is something you want to practice, so it becomes second nature and you can focus all your attention on fighting with the other ADC. Don't just trade, do everything in your power to try and bully him out of lane.

Be aggressive.

By that, I don't mean chasing him down every time he comes close, you want to simply keep him away from the creep wave. While you want to be behind your creeps, you want to stay close enough so every time he walks up to try and farm, you're right there to bring the hurt. Generally, when I'm trying to bully someone, I hang out between my castor and melee minions. Melee minions are harder to last hit, and since the castor minions are behind me, if he wants to last hit one of those, he will be taking damage from me. If he tries to fight me he will miss the last hit. It becomes a no-win situation, he is going to take damage either way every time he tries to farm. That is also why you last hit, last hitting is when you wait until the creep is right about to die then deliver the final blow. That way his minions do as much damage to yours as they can, so that he getting any CS.

I suggest you watch a pro's stream and really watch not just how they farm, but how they battle back and forth. Where he stands, when he goes in for a kill and when he simply gets a bit of harass.

Shoot them back and try to manage the wave to where you're not going to have to shoot while they're not, and spend mana if you have to to avoid walking on their side to get a caster minion. Getting fucked up isn't worth 15 gold.

If you do not let your opponents know that you're going to hold your own they'll walk over you. You get shot up 3 or 4 times for free and your lane is over. That's how easy it is to lose lane. You either establish that you're going to fight for the lane or you lose, that's all there is to it.

That's why you'll have those matches where you feel helpless and you're just stuck on your tower because their bottom lane has all of the pressure and control even though everyone is 0/0. Your lane gave away that you were either less experienced or scared and then they just took control.

Should i start trying to zone out players and harass them too

Yes

i rely on my team mates

Do not do this is solo queue

The most important thing to realize about league is that it's not about passively farming. It's about removing gold from the other team while gaining gold for yourself. If they can't get close to minions and you have free farm, you're gaining a lead twice as fast and they're worthless.

A lot of the difference between higher elo and low elo in the laning phase, not so much the difference in game knowledge etc., is that high elo players are confident and aggressive. Getting to the point where you have free farm and their laner is a hobo is the only goal.

Take note of not only the enemy minion hp bars, but your own minion's hp.

When you see your minion's hp getting low, you can be sure the adc is going to step in to last hit... This is your window to step in and deal damage to them. After all, this is the same line of thinking they have towards you. If they see you stepping in to last hit a low minion, they are going to be trying to harass you.

If you both establish that you understand this harass game, then typically you will both back off from harassing each other and just focus on last hitting for a while. Alternatively, you will both just decide to trade with each other frequently.

Either way, it's better than just taking a bunch of harass without doing anything back. You have to focus on not only your last hits, but the enemy last hits as well.

Finally... try picking an ADC with good range. If you pick a low range ADC, expect to get poked at a lot.
