How can I practice skillshots?

After seeing the new Dauntless Ahri skin, I found that I'd like to practice my Ahri again. I adore her as a character, but found her too hard to use, so I gave up on maining her, but this skin is drawing me back to her. Maybe I might even main her after all.

My problem is, I suck at skillshots. My ability to land charms is atrocious and I struggle with landing orbs (occasionally, I'm not horrible with them). I don't know how to practice skillshots, though. I feel like I'd be better if the charm had a lower cooldown than it does, and after some practice with friends, I could do a lot better. I just need a way to use skillshots more frequently.

Quick cast, as scary as it can be to start, can actually help with that. You lose the comfort of knowing your ranges (there is an option to show them by holding the key), but you gain a more responsive cast time.

Other than that, just play the champion a lot. More experience will make you familiar with how fast the projectile goes, how far it goes, and how much you need to account for an enemy moving.

Just play a lot of ahri and you'll get better

I know a big tip for blitz/thresh players. When someone is walking around a corner, they will most likely walk as close to the wall as possible because it is the most efficient path. IDK if it will help on AHri but i hope it helps you anyways. :)

Project, I'm a mid main, and would be willing to do practice mids against your Ahri, if you like. I'm pretty decent at dodging(at least I think I am) so you ought to get the practice you need if you want to add me.

You go into a 1v1 custom and fire skillshots at each other. Buy lots of mana , CDR and mana regen

Try to predict enemy movement.

  • Most enemies (personal experience) usually having a quite a lot bloodlust when they're advancing; making their move easily being predicted
  • try to see a condition that the enemies would likely stay there for a while (even .2s or .3s); usually when their casting skills, auto attacking, or turning around.
  • Casting Range. Take note that the longer ranger you cast your skill, the more time the skill landed; to get an easy shot, try to lower the distance as much as possible without taking a huge risk being dived
  • Position yourself. A good positioning skill allows you to move around the teamfight and enhancing your view on whom you should skillshot.

  • Practice 1 v 1 or 2 v 2 with a friend will usually helps too; it's fun and challenging

I'm not using quick cast because the indicator line boost my accuracy, reduce missclicked quite a lot. If you need a friend that could accompany you practice your skillshots, just add me and text me (to remember me)

I recommend picking up Ezreal and Lux, as they're both champ with 100% skill shots (Yes Ezreal's arcane shift is included). I was terrible at skillshots in Season 3, so I mained Ezreal for a couple months and the improvement came.

You just need to practice, plain and simple. Ezreal is a good champion to practice on, but if you like Ahri, play lots of Ahri; Nidalee is my favorite champ so I just played a lot of Nidalee and got better that way. When it comes to mechanics, a lot of it is just practice.

I find it best to aim ahead of the target. If you aim so you take into account their speed, the speed of your projectile, (Caitlyn's Q, E, Shyvana's E, Leona's E, any many others,) and the direction they are traveling, and their distance between you and the maximum range of your skill shot, you will normally hit them without really trying. I land just about all of my skill shots by doing this.

Quick-Cast Don't shoot unless you know you'll hit them. Like when they're CC-ed, or during CQC. Move for the back-spin on Ahri's [Q] Orb of Deception.

That's about it. Maybe try to include your experience with other skillshots, so you can at least translate something over.
