What are some healthy ranked practices?

So I finally decided to avidly play ranked games. After my 10 provisionals I got placed and am really enjoying the more competitive play. However, it's gotten to where I usually win one ranked game, then go on a losing streak. I'd like to know some healthy practices that you guys do when playing ranked, whether it be playing a few matches a day or inviting friends to help you out. I've already found two that I try to always follow:

  1. If I'm on a 2 game losing streak, quit for a while
  2. Main support (nami support=best support)

Play in the late night where the 10 yo kids have gone to sleep. That's an easy way to avoid the trolls. Next comes the "pro players". People who think they are good and can carry. You get in game, you mute them and you play it out. Last but not least you have the toxic players. You will notice these guys in the lobby with the ol' (lane) or feed. Quickly use the X on the top right of the client to avoid losing 20 lp. Remember around 6 dodges = 1 loss. Take your chances.

Download LSI at http://www.leaguelsi.com/ and use it to check your ping before entering queue. Also, it records replays and you can review your losses to see what you need to change for future games.

Enter ranked queue only when you are feeling rested, energized, and pumped to carry as hard as you can. Take breaks to walk around outside, nap, do pushups, listen to motivational tapes, call your mom, whatever gets you wound up and energized.

Use the mute button whenever any player has been consistently negative in chat AND they have said nothing that is legitimately constructive. Chatting with these players just causes them to spiral further out of control, even if you try to be positive with them.

Find someone you have good communication with to duo.

Take it seriously and try your hardest, but remember that you are playing for fun!

Find comfort picks. Play one to four champions and become the absolute best at them. Stick to these picks, even if another pick is slightly better for composition or lane. If you can't pick them, dodge the game to protect your mmr.
