Ive Been playing LoL since early s4 and know every role to a good standard i think. but support is by far my best. i ward every game like crazy! i try and get my adc fed. i commucicate. and play more carry orientated support such as Annie Zyra . but my win rates on champs such as Blitzcrank Leona Janna are extremely high. but as all higher ranks and people have told me is to play annie or zyra because tehy can build for dmg if getting fed and be a 2nd mid laner or AP carry. and yes i have found that janna leo and blitz etc... cant exactly carry games. please leave some tips below on carrying as a support. thanks

get to level 2 first in lane often helps, both for safety and for kill pressure.

You seem to do reallyyy well with traditional supports, so stick with it. AP supports only work if you're comfortable with that style of play and know how to snowball the lane hard. Blitz/Leona/Janna are great because they force teamfights or can disengage unfavorable ones. Also great for protecting your adc. You have really good win rates with them, so just keep it up and you'll climb right out...

Heres the problem with maining support in lower ranks: You are relying on people in bronze to carry you out of bronze.

Supports are INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT, they are a great force multiplier, but they can't do anything on their own. So if your team in general sucks then...

I would say be reactive. As support you usually pick very late, and support is probably the best role to counterpick with. Enemy team Malphite Sejuani, pick Janna. Or just pick what your team needs. Lacking damage? Take Zyra or Annie.

Yeah in Bronze it can be rather difficult at times, since being a support you have to rely on the rest of the team A LOT. I played Janna non-stop in season 3 and went from BV to BII but it took a long time (around 200 matches). Then in season 4 I tried it again but had to get into more of the carry roles in order to get past BII, which I used either Jungle or ADC to do when I got there.

i don't get it, if your winrate on janna, blitz etc are high or even extremely high why would you bother to play annie or zyra

LONG POST I'm not much higher in rank then you but I'm a support main so I'll try to share some advice;

General

  • Supports can't carry. Well, they kind of can, but not in the way most people think. Killing is not your job, disabling and harassing the enemy is. Getting items like item 3060 , item 3116, item 2137 , and Captain Enchantment will help you do that. (I highly suggest getting a item 3116 on Zyra support as soon as you finish your core since you have no hard cc, like annie, and no mobility, like janna.)

  • However, as a support you are really reliant on your team to get you to that victory screen.

  • I... don't like or recommend carry oriented supports. They're really easy to shit on if you have heals or shields as the support. Not to mention they're generally really cocky and focus on getting themselves kills rather then helping their team, partly because their kits aren't designed for it. More cc = easier kills for that baby you're sitting.

  • Objectives! keep vision on Drag as much as you can without risking yourself or your lane, particularly early game.

  • If you can, try to ward the enemy jungle around red/blue buff. This will give you vision on that pesky jungler and if your jungler is bally enough, they do something about it.

  • Callshots. be a shot caller. Ping drag when you can go after it, do the same to a turret if it's laners are gone and you know the jungler isn't going to come and fuck you. If you've got a bad feeling about an engage try to pull your team away to a safer spot. Alternatively, if someone else is doing this, get on their side and help them. Don't stop and don't say "I told you so" or variants of: sure fire way to make people salty.

  • BUT, tell that guy to shut the fuck up if he's being an asshole.

  • Morale is super important. No one likes to feel like shit after the game.

  • You can't save everyone in a teamfight (usually).

  • You're important too, no matter what your asshole teammates say.

Guides. Good guides are a godsend

  • Janna guide that I love and helped me climb a lot last season.

  • Leona guide!

  • Warding a lot is good but only if you're waring in the right places. Support guides generally have a section dedicated to this

Buildstuf???

  • If you can avoid it, don't build health vs health shredders: Sejuani, anyone who gets a BotRK ever, or anyone who naturally does % health damage. This is really important to remember as Leona (or any other tank support). You need to stay in the fight as long as possible to present a target, peel, and get all that cc off.

item 3060

  • This is a really good item for non-tank supports if they have any ap casters.

  • It makes a minion way stronger and makes them immune to magic

  • yeah. immune to MAGIC DAMAGE

  • That super changed little minion can help you push against supers (a little) but it's strength is in pushing. Throwing this dlf into a side lane? ace.

  • OR you can grab a item 2137 in addition and push with it! If you can manage to bring down a tower and get out alive it will *totally *raise team morale. This works really well with Janna.

I hope any of that was helpful and not super redundant and annoying. Best of luck with climbing!
