Getting out of Elo Hell (Guide)
I don't know how good of a guide this will be, but I'm looking to help other players who don't seem to understand that getting a bunch of kills will not help you in winning the game unless you put the advantage to good use. This is all personal experience, if this does not work for you I'm sorry.
TL;DR Pick TEAM champions Help EVERYONE in laning Don't act like you ALREADY lost when you just started Dodge games if you KNOW they will be bad Improve on YOUR OWN playing, and not how others play Take BREAKS when losing, and on tilt
Picking: Always, and I mean always pick a champion that fits with the teams play style, and I know that is probably hard for people who have their mains, and all that good stuff, but it won't help if you're all squishy, and they're all off-tank bruisers. That's simply a comp that will not end out in your favor. The best champions (or the champions I used) to get out of elo hell, and the ones that fit with every comp were Maokai, and Malphite. They have hard CC, and good tanking. I went 19/3 W/L with Mao, and 11/1 W/L with Malphite.
Laning: Please, please, please do not be the person who think CS is for trash players, and kills are worth way more gold than CS. I've seen this so many times from Silver and Bronze, but they go like 4/0 in lane, but they only have 20 CS at 10 minutes, and don't be the person who just sits there CSing. I used to do this, and I do not recommend it. We lost every fight, because I wasn't in a team fight, and the other lanes snowballed, and instead of stopping the other laners from getting fed, and helping team mates. I focused on my own selfish needs, and I've lost more games like that, than I have won.
Mentality: If you don't think you can win, you probably can't. You can't be negative if bot goes 0/4. Also you can't let them be negative, or have any of your team be negative towards them. Cheer them up, and help them win lane. I can't tell you how many times I've seen somebody go 0/5 in laning, and be 10/6 end game. Just because I told them "Don't worry about it. I'll TP bot soon, and we can get a free double." And complimented them after we did get the double.
Dodging: Can't tell you how many times this has saved me. Losing 3 LP is better than losing 20 LP. If you think your team is going to be toxic, or feed, or say something like this "Mid or Feed I am a plat smurf, and I main Leblanc" just dodge, do not lose LP, because you think you can win. It's almost like going for CS in League. If you think they can kill you if you go for it, then it's sometimes better to lose a couple of cs than it is giving the enemy 300 gold.
Mid/End Game: Always, always, always try to end as fast as you can, and think of the best choice you can make in the current situation. If you see that enemy jungler is top, and your bot just got a double kill, then Dragon is indeed a great idea. If you lost a team fight always think. What is the enemy doing? Can I make an even trade if they get baron? Could I possibly split bot, and get a turret or two while they get baron? Just think of all the possible choices you are able to find where the pros out-weigh the cons.
Mechanics: This is something you will have to develop over time. If you aren't mechanically good at League then you might want to practice with one champion, and get really good at that champion. Know its ins and outs. Be able to learn how to kill a jungler, and the enemy laner when they gank you. Not all champions can do this, but I was able to 1v4 as Yasuo, and I learned him for a good bit, and I got really good, and one a lot of games with him. Anyways, if you don't know how to play the champion learn it, in-fact learn all champions so you'll be able to know their ins and outs too.
Play-time: Take breaks. Just do it. It will help you so much. Even when I go on giant winning streaks I take them. One day I played 2 games of Maokai, and take a break, wait for 2 hours, and play another 2 games. I ended up winning the next 12 games as Maokai. I never was toxic, because I wasn't overwhelmed in a rapid fury of awful team mates. If you lose a game, you will most likely be angry if you lose another, and it will only want to make you play more games, so you can finally win one. So be sure to take breaks.
I want to thank all of you who read this guide whether you found this helpful or not, I'm not the best League player, but I do know how to improve. I thank you all again, and wish you all good luck in your ranked, or normal games!
