Don't Underestimate the Power of Repetition

Up until recently, skillshots were a part of the game that eluded me. Me playing Blitzcrank was a nightmare of missed hooks, with most not even coming close. I went so far as to avoid skill-shot reliant champions almost entirely to avoid embarrassment. Then I chose to level up Blitzcrank, a champion whose power is dependent entirely upon his ability to land a skillshot. There were growing pains, naturally, and I'm still a ways away from where I'd ideally like to be... but I've at least reached a point where I feel competent enough to consider locking in Blitzcrank in a ranked match. All this from sheer repetition. I of course watched a video or two, but it was honestly all practice. What most people tell you in those videos is it's all about prediction, and playing so much Blitzcrank taught me how to do that, not some video, because it was either I learned to or I would continue to fail.

Now, skillshots are just another part of the game for me. I took a break from Blitzcrank (14154/21600) to play TahmKench, for example, and maybe 1/10th of the time I'll be off target. Any other misses are them being _just _ outside the range. Similarly, I tried Ultimate Bravery last night and drew DrMundo , my least favorite champion to play as, and I was landing his cleavers with relative ease. I felt such a sense of accomplishment, and it was nice to see so clearly the good all that time with Blitzcrank did for me.

So, honestly, if you have a mechanical problem, just work at it until you start to improve. You'd be surprised by the good it can do. It's why I play so many co-ops. A dozen or so co-ops with Lux allowed me to focus solely on the match at hand, rather than learning intimately the ins and outs of her kit. It all came down to my performance when I took her to normals. This method isn't for everyone, but I'm sure it'll do at least a few people some good.
