ADC help please

So I usually play jungle or support but also can play top lane, but I've been trying to learn how to play adc recently so I don't automatically lose lane when I need to play adc. I have Corki, Tristana, Ashe, and Sivir.

When I play, I am always very underwhelmed by my damage output and overwhelmed by the enemies damage. I'm using AD quints and standard others. I start blade and pot and will buy BF Sword on first recall or Sheen if I'm playing Corki. But I always feel like I'm just throwing spit balls at them. Sometimes I get good trades (yes, I've been working on trade stance), but not always. I have usually been coming around even cs with my lane oppontent (not hard in my elo I guess).

And team fights still feel weak. I just don't feel like I'm damaging much for my team even if I build standard builds.

What gives? What are some tips from you adc mains for learning adc (besides the obvious increase your cs)? Please help. I have UFO Corki skin from when I first played and I'd like to be able to use it without sucking. Thanks!

I was on the exact same situation you are on. After playing a lot of ADC i reached the conclusion that it's the most underpowered role in the game right now. You have to do damage against Tanky Bruisers and full Tanks and that means you will only do around 200 damage per hit on those targets. The only targets you can do damage is squeashys and for that you need a standart build of: item 3046 item 3031 item 3035 item 3072 item 3006 item 3026

You will still only hit CRITS of 200 on bruisers, wich is crap. But you can expect crits of 400 or 500 on squeashys

Good luck playing the most underpowered role in the game right now. (unless you want to play Vayne she is the true OP ADC)

Tristana, Ashe, and Sivir are good for first timer ADC. (I don't know alot about corki)

Sivir is very good pick against a blitzcrank as each blitzcrank pull when you activate spell shield, will negate the damage and the pull AND give you more mana!

Ashe is a good global ult learner. Sh'll help you get used to others like Ezreal and Draven's ults. She has a perma slow so even if you dont get alot of damage out you can help your team by NOT feeding and then slowing enemies for your team to kill them.

Tristana is perhaps one of the safest of the 3 ADCs Haveing a rocketjump, a ult that blows people away, AND flash summoner. You have quite a few escapes for when you find yourself in a bad situation!

On all of theses I find it best to build item 3031 makes your crits do 250% instead of 200% All of the champions above scale great off crits and attack speed..

item 3031 item 3006 item 3087 item 3072 item 3035 item 3026 < - A good example of a bronzie item build path for an ADC. exactly in that order..

but they say its best to build accordingly..

NEVER and I repeat NEVER build item 3087 item 3006 or item 3046 AS A FIRST ITEM.. build DAMAGE first.. I never do good building this stuff Frst.. not even if Im playing Kalista I ALWAYS need damage first...

THis may not be the most UP - Beat videos... but they're pretty legit.. just slightly listen to this and you'll perhaps learn quite a bit for ADCing.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1diu8neEGhg - Laning

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NmsugUUANPc - positioning.

Dont Try to force yourself into a role.

This is my last tip, not every role is always right for everyone.. Otherwise I'd be a professional Filler.. There are people out there who can fill any role, but many people can't do every role.. I have another friend who can do Mid Jungle and support.. but they can't do ADC... And then I have a friend who can do anything... (Lucky guy....)

You may have a hard time with a role... You have a hard tie with ADC... I have a hard time in the jungle... I tried soo many times to jungle.. No matter what, I can't seem to get better as it..

so If I go into champion select I inform people..

"Anywhere but jungle" That's not too much for me to ask I'm at least not one of those "MID OR FEED" people... There are people who can switch up their roles and work around my disability to jungle.. and almost every time there's something willing to take jungle for me.. and I show my gratitude by thanking them in chat AND usually in the form of a good leash...

#Edit

I found a Scrap computer guide for corki! he's really great at detailed guides and is usually up-beat to listen to.

See if you can learn something for corki. :)

http://prntscr.com/8e2rn1 OH LOOK! You learn how to corki well and people might hail you as a Hero among ADCs... YOU COULD COUNTER VAYNE!

ADC can be the weakest role on this meta with crits of 200 damage on bruisers BUT i still play the role a lot because i like a good challenge. And if you are lucky you will be doing teamfights mid game withitem 3031 item 3046 on bruisers with only attack damage items. Usualy bruisers go for damage items first and only late game they build tank. So get gold fast so you can kill those buisers with only a item 3071 or a item 3074 .

Crit to win on those bastards

One thing to remember with Corki Corki specifically is that he also uses a fair amount of magic damage, not purely AD. You might see differences in damage from this.

An obvious big difference between bot lane and others is that you are 2v2. A lot of solo laners are used to dueling and trading more in my opinion, while early game ADC should be almost purely focused on CS. Whichever duo hits lvl 2 first has a huge advantage, and hopefully that turns into the first BF Sword item 1038 (I'm not sure what Corki's suggested first item, but it's probably Sheen item 3057 ). Make sure you lane according to your support and the enemy's support. For example, playing with Blitzcrank Blitzcrank is vastly different than playing with Janna Janna .

Make sure during teamfights you are focusing on damage over time from Auto-Attacks and Critical Strikes. Try to attack whichever champs are close to you and keep your distance from anyone who might lock you down or assassinate you. One of my best learned lessons as ADC is to not overestimate your damage, because unless you are very very fed, you should rely on others to help you do damage over long periods of time, not trying to assassinate people. Don't necessarily run into the fight trying to kill someone who is low when other members of the opposing team can still kill you.

I shifted my mindset from killing others to staying alive as long as possible. Even if you do not necessarily get many kills, if you can make sure your team wins trades and takes other objectives, then you are doing your job. Another main reason fro strong ADCs is to take down turrets and other objectives.

I hope this helps summoner 31 I'm still low Bronze, so these are just things I have learned and try to practice every game.

BUILDS

AD carry builds are quite simple, and there are 2 basic build types an ad carry can follow: crit and spellblade. Champions like Tristana, Ashe, and Sivir use the crit build, and champions like Corki and Kog'Maw use the spellblade build. There are also a few champions which have oddball builds specific to them.

In the crit build your first item is Infinity Edge, your second is a crit/attack speed item (Statikk Shiv or Phantom Dancer typically), and your third will almost always be Last Whisper, unless you are ahead and your opponent does not have any armor yet. Occasionally you can fit a Vampiric Scepter in sometime before the Last Whipser, but if not your fourth item should be a lifesteal item, typically either Bloodthirster or Blade of the Ruined King. By the time you get to your fifth item, it will be late enough in the game that you will need some kind of defense to survive a fight, so typically you will build some type of utility/tank item like Banshee's Veil, Quicksilver Sash, or Guardian Angel.

The spellblade build is somewhat more flexible, but you first item is always Trinity Force. Your second is usually a lifesteal item, although occasionally you can throw Infinity Edge into this slot. Your third is usually Last Whisper unless your opponent has no armor, and your fourth and fifth items are your defensive item and either Infinity Edge or your lifesteal item if you already have an Infinity Edge.

PLAYSTYLE

As an ad carry you care about 3 things.

  1. Farm.

  2. Staying alive.

  3. Dealing consistent damage.

In fights, obviously you don't have to worry about farming, so at that point you are just doing damage and stayin' alive. It is extremely important that, as the highest dps champion on your team, you are alive at the end of fights so your team can take objectives and/or push towers, because without you it becomes much harder to take down towers, dragons, and barons successfully before the other team respawns. If you have to, just focus on whoever is closest to you even if it is a tank, just so that you can keep dealing damage from a safe distance.

Ad carry also happens to be a somewhat mechanically demanding role if you are playing it right, so it can take some practice. If you are interested in working with me hands-on to help improve please add me in-game. I would love to help!

Core fundamentals of botlane. I highly recommend this entire series (it's a very hefty time investment.) this one goes over trading, free damage, lane momentum, recieving ganks etc. as well as what your support expects from you, and what you should expect from your support. Some info is outdated (reworks, etc) so keep that in mind

And here are team fighting roles/positions. Roles meaning build types, not what lane you're in. Marksman, assassin, bruiser, etc. you don't have to watch this whole video, just scroll through to the marksman set:
