How can I climb out of Silver into at least Gold?

Hey all,

Was wondering if anybody could give me some tips on climbing out of Silver. I think I have become very toxic, especially lately after losing promos into Silver 1, because of the people who are not so good and because of the trolls, afks, feeders, etc. I am stuck in Silver 2 and 3 and my goal is to hit Gold within a month. I do wanna improve my attitude, but all these terrible people dont help any. Also there are multiple games where I do get really fed, but im not huge enough to carry the slack of a bad team (80% of the games I get a terrible bot lane). What are some simple things I can do to carry games in mid/upper Silver? Aside from taking objectives and farming better (because whenever I want to get dragon or turrets or inhibitors I receive zero help). Should I be maining ADC or something? Am i playing too much of these 3 roles: Jungle/Mid/Top? If so how can I main a role if I cant get it at least 50% of the time like other high tiers? Should I stop Solo-queuing and start Duo-Queuing?

TL;DR

I am just really frustrated and want to get out of Silver. What can I do better to get out?

P.S. Should I just start from scratch? I think having a chat ban on my two Silver accounts is discouraging and I have a level 23 and 8 account which both have a fair pool of champions and are not chat restricted. Don't get me wrong, I do want to be come a non-toxic player, and improve at the same time while HAVING FUN. I have not been having fun at all these past 20 games. So, should I just "get a fresh start" by moving to those accounts (Lvl 8 or 23)? Or keep grinding on my main account (100 game chat ban + Silver 2) or my 2nd main (Silver 3 50LP + 30 game chat ban)?

I believe I've found your problem.

Support ticket already created. Here's hoping they ban more than just your main.

  1. Always be creating an advantage. Don't go around chasing or trying to set up plays. If you aren't completely sure roaming around won't get you a kill, then pressure a lane and farm.

  2. Every kill has to mean something. A kill in lane at Diamond level is a won lane most of the time. They know that by getting a kill it means they are stronger, have more experience, can deny, and snowball. If you get a kill bot lane around 6 - 8 mins then you should be trying to take drag. Kills are essentially useless unless you make them worth more then just the ~25 minions of gold.

Here's from my experience:

You need, at the very minimum, to be proficient in about 3 roles more or less above the tier you're playing. Meaning, if you play mid a lot, then you should be playing at a gold level. How do you determine this? I'd say by how many games you win/lose against similar elo players. In the end, it's up to you to judge yourself.

In addition to 3 roles, being good with a plethora of champions is always a smart idea. I'd say at least two per role. The main point behind this is to try and counter-pick your opponent. A hard counter will make winning lane 10x easier, which can allow you to get fed and carry.

However, simply being fed doesn't mean you'll always carry. To be carrying, you have to have an advantage(being fed), and actually use your advantage(the hardest part). This is taking objectives (dragon, tower, inhib, baron), and even helping other lanes with shut downs.

In your specific situation, I'd keep playing your main, because a 3-game winning streak will probably put you back in promos.

Regardless, you may simply be a "silver" player. You may need more experience and understanding to progress to gold. You shouldn't feel obligated to keep moving up if you aren't having fun. Getting angry, becoming toxic, isn't my definition of fun.
