New Player Seeking Advice, Tips, and Tricks: CS and Beginner-Friendly Champs

Hi everyone, I am new to LoL and I'm looking for some advice, tips, and tricks to help me become a better player. I am currently level 23 and I currently enjoy the support role. To be honest, it is also the only role I feel comfortable playing. The main reason is because I suck at last hitting. As a support, you don't really need to focus on your cs.

I would really like to try other lanes, so it would be great if someone could share some tips on last hitting and how to improve my cs. So far I have been making custom games to practice last hitting. Besides muscle memory and more practice is there some sort of life hack to obtain a higher cs?

I am also looking for some beginner friendly champs. The champs I currently use/trying to learn are (open to advice/tips):

Top - Gnar Mid - Annie Ahri ADC - Ashe Sivir Supp - Soraka Lulu Jungle - N/A (have not attempted to learn yet)

I'll admit that majority of my choices are based on who appealed to me and who I planned on maining eventually. I won't stop trying to learn these champs, but I feel that a more beginner friendly champ would make it a lot easier for me to learn the ropes.

I am also open to other tips, tricks, and advice besides these 2 topics. It can be about anything (common mistakes new players make, etc).Really just anything that you wished someone told you when you were first starting out.

Thanks in advance!

Hey there I main adc and I feel it's where I learned to play. Realistically any ranged champion can be solid. On the other hand some have more in their kits to fill their roles. I recommend twitch for a solid adc to learn on. He is very user friendly with his passive poison on hits and his e allows the stacks to punish those who get hit. Not to mention he can hide and increase his at speed. In my opinion he's a mid cost adc that can go toe to toe with the more expensive harsher ads like vayne, jinx, and kalista!

Beginner-friendly ranged top lane champ is almost nonexistent because top lanes are mostly melee, and if not, they're quite hard to play (Gnar) :D.....Teemo does come to mind though. He's not that easy, but, he's not crazily difficult to play. (I'm sure you heard the stories regarding this evil yordle)

Laning champs that have easy time cs'ing that comes straight to mind is Zed....and Cho'Gath

Zed has a passive that deals extra magic damage to targets below 50% health, which makes it easier to last hit minions, champs, monsters, etc...everything. Last hitting is incredibly easy with this guy. But his mechanics are arguably one of the most versatile & complicated kit in the entire game, so he's not really beginner-friendly...(he doesn't look friendly either. LOL)

Cho'Gath has his E skill, which is actually a passive that makes you shoot spikes upon basic attacking to an area in front of you, dealing magic damage. This skill also helps last hitting as the extra magic damage really helps. He is a melee, but he's an AP Castor and oftentimes I find him more like a ranged champ than a melee champ. He's a top lane champ =w= (Also midlane, and jungle. Haven't seen much jungles recently though.) His mechanics are fairly simple, you just gotta...aim. Q can be hard to land depending on your opponent (and your aim.)

And then, under certain conditions, Ekko/Vayne/Caitlyn/Kalista/Casseiopia...and countless other champs have a part of their kit designed to help them cs better (well, it isn't DESIGNED for cs, but you can use it to farm.)

I can't explain all of them here, but many champs have some kits like these, so check them out :D

I think the easiest supports to play are the tanks, particularly Leona and Braum

Don't really think Gnar is a beginner friendly champ, you have to keep a really close eye on his rage bar and what with Riven and Irelia being pretty popular these days it can be a tough lane if you're starting out. Try straight up tanks like Garen or Sion so you can build tank and just focus on cs. Position yourself so that if your enemy tries to pick a fight it'll be inside your own minion wave. Both champs are pretty cheap too.

Jungle wise I find Warwick to be a good place to start. He's cheap, mechanically simple and you don't have to worry about clear sustain so you can focus more on map awareness and objective control. Try to keep track or predict where the enemy jungler will be and act accordingly. If they show top you can solo dragon (after sweeping for wards). Plan your clear routes so you can gank a pushed lane whenever your ult is up.

Beginner friendly champs are typically the really cheap ones. There are exceptions though. Darius, Lux, Morgana, Sona, Karma, Udyr, Mundo, Vladimir, Trundle and Fiddledix.

There is no hack to CSing unless under tower. You should only auto attack if it nets you gold. That's passive farming anyway. You attack too many times on the minions and you end up "pushing" the wave. AD champions have an easier time doing this than AP champions do. AD are physical damage champions and AP are magical attacks. Regardless all champions auto attacks deal physical damage.

The trick to farming under tower is this: Let the turret auto attack the melee minions 2xs from full hp. After 2 attacks they should be low enough that a single auto attack will finish them off. Caster minions (mage minions) are a bit more complex. Attack them 1 time when they are full hp. Now let the turret attack once after you attacked it. Now attack 1 more time (a total of 2 auto attacks) and you should have gotten the gold from the minion kill. When a full hp minion wave is knocking on your turret the trick to quickly dispatching them while getting every last hit is to get those first hits in on the caster minions while waiting on the 2 shots to be delivered by your turret. So while melee minion #1 is getting shot by your turret go and auto caster minions #1 and #2. Then last hit melee minion #1 and follow up by auto attacking caster minion #3. Then just wait for the last hit opportunities to pop up. Unfortunately cannon minions have too much health to have a sure fire way of always last hitting them.this one you just have to feel out.
