Landed Myself In an ELO I don't belong in. (Targeted for higher ELO players)

So basically after my placements I got placed in Platinum III, and I get matched up with players who got Diamond 3 last Season. Platinum V to my current MMR is quite the skill leap and I feel like I can't keep up. I don't want to lose my MMR, however, I find myself to be a rather slow learner. So this is where I'm asking for some sort or pointers. How can I learn faster? How can I learn from my mistakes and correct bad plays? How can I learn when it's a good idea to go in, and when it isn't?

I've been trying to main ADC this Season, and I think that's a part of the issue because my ADC isn't the best. I'm more comfortable in the mid lane or jungle, but I still feel like I'd get crushed by these guys.

Thanks in advance!

You keep up by going back to normals. If you're having problems in ranked and you want to avoid dropping tiers then work your ass off in normal games and try to fix your mistakes there before you really dedicate yourself to ranked this season. Just play what you need to so you avoid decay until you feel comfortable actually trying that MMR again.

Ha. D3 last season, placed in plat III this season. Nice to see you :-)

Number 1 thing you can do to improve is watch pro player streams. Especially ones that do a good job explaining why they're doing stuff like NightBlue3 and Scarra.

If you made it to plat, you probably have pretty good mechanics and game sense, but the number one thing that separates a plat player from a diamond player is making consistent good decisions. That will help you A TON.

If you're trying to play adc, maybe you should play 50 teambuilder games with a specific champ before jumping into ranked. Do this with 3 different champs. You should feel pretty comfortable mechanically after that even if you get dumpstered your first few games. Just shake it off and keep practicing, because you will improve each game. Highly recommend reading lolking guides by high level players too (rank guides by lolking score) for extra mechanical tips and build reasoning. That'll help a lot too.

If you're an adc player, you definitely want to work on your farming too. Farm is gold, is items, is power. Highly recommend practice like this: http://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/2090oi/elyndars_guide_to_cs_like_a_challenger_graphic/

Anyway, hope that helps! Looking forward to getting carried by you soon! :-)
