Your opinion on the mental side of League/

"You need to learn how to win, not learn how "Not to lose". That's nothing to be proud of. You're playing not to lose. You've got to risk losing. You've got to risk everything. You've got to go to the edge of defeat. That's where you want to be - on the edge of defeat. Just play. Never play the board, always the man. You've gotta play the man "playing" the board. Play "me". I'm your opponent, you have to beat "me". Not the board, beat "me"." - A Guy who knew someone famous

For me this game is mental torture. I cannot think that a player genuinely loving the game can get pleasure just from the number of points scored no matter how impressive the total. I cannot speak for myself as I am not that good, but for the masters of this game, from games I have watched a learned from, the aesthetic side was the most important. Aesthetic in the sense that the plays are beautifully executed, the manner in which a team controls the board, captures dragon as it spawns while holding off the opposing team, or the team fights that literally put you in awe.

While watching or playing, seeing someone go 20+/1/10 I think to myself that is a great player, because a KDR is important. Then they lose because of reasons. In hindsight a great player is player who can do everything on the board,he can do assists, encourage the team and lead. Me and my group of friends talk about individuals on a team such as C9 and so on. Though it always comes back to being a team.

From what I have seen it does not matter if one or two players are fed and have a huge score advantage. The bottom line counter is teamwork.

I say these things, but applying them to play is a new world...

I was wondering how others felt during a game. How to avoid playing on tilt. Most of the time Solo que is irritating. If you happen to be first blood. or someone blames you for getting them killed its a snowball effect to failure.

(Reworded to makes sense)

While this is true the rest of what you say is wrong. Knowing how to win does not mean taking risks, it means taking calculated risks.

When you watch the pros and you see them making what looks like a risky play it really is not as bad as you think. They are constantly tracking timers in their heads and approximation of their damage potential. They are not just randomly doing anything.

So their is no reason to go to the edge of defeat.

Your obviously a lvl 29 fan boy. When you learn how to really play you will understand how wrong you were.

there is a lot to the game, but the more you know, the simpler it seems to get. also, to avoid tilt, just don't take each and every game as seriously and have fun with it.

learning how not to lose, and losing are very different things. Learning how to win and winning are different things. It's how you adapt, change, and rethink your strategies. Learning how not to lose, safeguards you from not only defeat of the game, but "self-defeat". You can't always win, but if you can win the small battles knowing that there might not be much else you can do, than at least not becoming a burden to the team and creating opportunities is better than, "learning how to win"
