Getting Worse at League?

I'm not sure why, but it feels I've gotten significantly worse at this game.

Season 2: My map awareness was amazing and I always knew where the enemy jungler was, though had very little game knowledge.

Season 3: I performed consistently on a mechanical basis often out playing enemy opponents, making calls around the map, and keeping track of enemy buff timers for invades. I would say my game knowledge was decent at this point. I made a lot of friends during these seasons since I was such a wonderful support.

Season 4: I officially learned map control (I thought it was common sense before), how to deal with certain strategies, how to abuse mistakes, keeping summoner timers, and when/ how to help my team. Though during this season my reaction/counter mechanics just dropped off along with my knowledge of enemy jungle paths/ where they would be.

Season 5: My map awareness is random and not consistent (sometimes think enemies are allies too), my csing ability has dropped significantly, I usually don't know when and where the enemy jungler is, and I completely fail at trading in lane.

I really don't know how to stop this from continuing. I want to get better, but it seems I am only getting worse (30% win rate over past week). It just seems like there is so much information to pay attention to that I end up not focusing on what I need to know at the right times.

If anyone has tips, I would love to hear them.

Sounds like you are "pressing" a bit. You've had a bad run and now you are trying too hard to fix the problem which only makes your play less crisp and causes you to lose more. I had a similar episode a few weeks ago and went through a stretch where I lost 12 straight games.

the solution is both simple, and complex.

First, don't play ranked for a few days, ranked puts extra pressure on you to perform and you'll just tense up and start flailing.

Second, play some ARAMs, play some bot games with champs you know you are good on. Play a custom game where you just try to last hit CS for 15 minutes. Find a friend and play 1v1 matches (to first blood or first tower, whichever comes first.) [the key is to play in a situation where the pressure is reduced.]

Third, reconsider your choice of main. Are you still happy with your main champ? Perhaps a change is necessary?

Fourth, remember that its all a game and have fun.

This happens sometimes. Just take a break or play ARAMs. It's also possible you're in a position in your life where other things are on your mind. Remember that you've gotten older since past seasons and things have changed with your brain and possibly your life. Take a breather and come back to it later. I do highly recommend ARAMs though. It sounds crazy but I feel like playing mass amounts of ARAM has improved my gameplay in general.

@Nbyx4life I think I understand what you are saying. It just seems though my mindset changed when I actually took a (~2-3 month) break from league a while back. I forgot things I took for granted, then came back trying to practice new things. (Also league is the only game I have atm).

@mvargus Thank you for the encouraging words. I don't necessarily mind losing, it's just that losing every game for long periods of time is tiresome and annoying.

Then you have those games where the enemy isn't making mistakes to capitalize on, yet the other lanes are being crushed by a jungler. Even if there are mistakes that I punish, I find myself being punished more than them.

I understand where you coming from. Like it was previously state some other things maybe in the back of your mind that is hindering your gameplay or It could be just the pace of the game has changed for you. It could also be just some overall bad decision making an not fully capitalizing on your opponents mistakes. It really could be anything at this point. Maybe play with some friends in a more casual setting so you feel a little less pressure to refine your game. Maybe your play style has changed an you need a redevelop your style. These are just my ideas, I hope everything works out for you.
