Why don't people pick Alistar in Poro King Mode?

Alistar with a gap closer can initiate to an extent like malphite's R. Meanwhile he can also W a single champion to the team and secure a kill. His E provides sustained sustain to the whole team. His R makes sure he gets to live, punch squishes to death and heal back with E. When the other team tries to poro dash and escape Alistar punishes them.

I've been playing Alistar on the Legend of the Poro King since day one of its release, as well as Maokai. Both are very strong and undermined on the new game mode.

I've seen a couple of others, but honestly I think people would rather play champions that carry the game in kills.

I played against some people playing Alistar in Poro king, mostly the reason people don't pick him is because he is a tank champion, and a lot of people would prefer to play a damage champ for kills in a game mode like that so he goes mostly unnoticed. He is very good if you build him really tanky, in addition to his ultimate for damage reduction as well as the defensive stats you can build. He really is very strong, but it really depends on who is playing him and whether or not someone is willing to play as a tanky and supportive player versus an assassin/fighter champion that is putting out lots of damage.

Because he's banned often.

The secret to winning Poro King is having as many tank-bruisers as possible.
