Unbalanced matchmaking/mmr balancing

Hey, matchmaking has been really weird lately, I mean terribly weird. I work my way up to a series with decent teams and then get paired with people who haven't the slightest clue as to what they're doing. I've failed about 7 series now trying for silver 1, I googled and it said they match you with people where both sides have a 50/50 chance but we get absolutely dominated every time (and exclusively on my series). I get forced into supporting roles and can't do much except watch every other lane get wrecked

I mean seriously, theres only been 2 or 3 games where it was a good game in all the times I've tried for series, every other time its just absolute domination by the opposing team. Sometimes it feels like teammates feed because the plays make no sense at all, someone told me about balancing mmr by losing on purpose, is it this common? is that even a thing?

The system pairs you with people with similar MMR and tries to make the team average MMR equal. There is no way riot can ananlyze wether your team will have 5 players who all main different roles and will be most effective. It also cant account for the emotional element where teams waste a lot of times arguing and going on tilt.

Losing on purpose is against the rules and can get you ranked banned so it is defenetly not a good idea if you wish to play ranked. Also there would be no net benefit. It will only lower your MMR and make any fututure LP gains smaller and losses bigger.

Your opponents are always as bad as your teammates. Thinking that playing with lower MMR people only makes your team weaker and not your opponents is magical thinking that a lot of LoL players exibit.
