LF Yasuo advice - Improving KDR, Escaping Ganks, and General Tips

I main Nidalee, and I've had some trouble finding a champion as fun and versatile as she is. I tried Yasuo for the first time today and had some success, but I've found myself to be a little to eager to jump in the fray. While overextending does sometimes lead to a kill, more and more often I find myself trading with my opponent, which is something that I don't experience often with Nidalee.

I seem to gravitate toward champions with mechanics that are difficult to master, but are very rewarding, and Yasuo provides this in bulk. As the title said, I could really use some advice in positioning with Yasuo and tips to avoid ganks and improve my KDR. Also, any general tips for Yasuo or similar champion recommendations are always welcome. Thanks in advance for all responses

Other Champions I enjoy: Ahri, Jayce, Lux, LeBlanc

Start q lvl 1 then e for 3-4 points upgrading w along the way , after 3-4points in e max q. I usually ward at 4 min where dragon/baron pit is if top , or the side that the jgler is on (2ndbuff) ward the lone bush in river or the ground of his kg . Try to build some e stacks on minions so it deals more when u e on opponent , also In lane very important to know that q is an aa cancel 99%sure , so e on minion or 2 then e on champ ,aa ,q repeat and if you are in range to do a e+3rdq always do it because u never know if they might dodge the KNOCKUP causing to lose duel . All I got hope it helped

Ronald thanks for the input! I had been avoiding building up my E on minions early game mostly cause I was preventing my dash escape. I'd E twice hit champ and q, but no minions were of CD do dash back. I guess with full flow and passive shield though you'd still win the trade.

After an enemy is knocked up, you can always weave in a basic attack before you use your ultimate (as long as they are in auto-range as soon as they are knocked up), maximizing damage output. Also, you can use your dash ability (E) as soon as you swing your sword from an auto to cancel the animation. You can do the same with wind wall; dashing immediately afterwards to cancel the animation and move through to the other side of the wind wall for a safe escape. Hope this helps!
