How to bot lane against Kata/Riven with Ashe???

So a few days ago, I went bot with Ashe and Alistar support. the opposing laners were Kata and Riven. I went 0/10 (well they were gold 5 cuz my friends were silver 2~ish :/) and our team surrendered at 20. I can't imagine how to lane against these champs who are meant to deal tons of damage in a short period of time/who are nearby dealers.(Is that how you say it? like dealers who come nearby and deal dmg) And because Ashe is so weak against these types of champs, I couldn't even. Is there any tips on how to lane/fight against these champs? Thanks!

I'm pretty sure you won't be seeing an opponent bot lane like Kat/Riven again in the next 2 weeks.

Out of pretty much every ADC, Ashe is the most ill-equipped to deal with non-meta picks like what you're talking about, especially ones with dashes/gapclosers. Don't play Ashe unless you know what the enemy bot lane will be like, or you'll most likely feed horribly. She's incredibly niche, even more so after she fell out of the meta. She has 0 mobility, so if she's caught out she's fucked unless her ult is up or she can 1-shot people. Hate to say this, but I'd recommend against playing Ashe in general. Used to main Ashe pre-level 30 in Season 3, and I dropped her for Ezreal about a month after I hit 30. She relies so much more on your team doing well that it's not a good idea to pick her unless you're in a pre-made, or you have a wombo combo support (like Ashe + Blitz or something). She can't carry games by herself, she just can't.

Well pre-6 should have been easy for you: Just don't let Riven engage on u (should be easy with ali support) and kat doesn't do dmg in the early game. Punish them when they go for cs and you should be good in that matchup. Once they hit 6 just play really passive.

Well, you're a ranged champion so you can poke if they come near, and if they did engage you alistar can just push them away.

It's either you or your support's fault imo. ezpz game right there.

That lane is generally not seen, but I will answer your question as best as I can. As a ranged vs melee, keep your distance by playing safe but poking as much as possible

The reason champions like Riven/Katarina are almost never seen as support picks is because of how dependent on items she is to be playable in the mid and late game, which means that if she doesn't get a bunch of kills in lane, she'll fall off super hard. So the key in any matchup where you're against some unconventional support pick is to play extremely carefully and even if you fall behind in farm, absolutely make sure to deny kills to the enemy support, and ping if they could be roaming mid or to your jungle. Being behind 20 or 30 CS at 20 minutes won't matter at all compared to the enemy team essentially being a 4v5.

When it's two melee champs bottom, it's what is called a 'kill lane', because their sole goal is to try to get as many kills as possible and snowball. Classic examples of this are Blitzcrank/Alistar or Leona/Jarvan, but they're very rarely played because it's extremely difficult to be successful against most standard ADC/support matchups. As a brief history lesson, 'kill lanes' were the meta near the start of this game, with ADCs usually being sent mid, but this meta was actually defeated by the current setup of support/ADCs bot. So they're trying something that used to be strong but specifically was wrecked by the current meta.

With an Alistar support, the lane should actually have been very easy if he played correctly, since you can poke Riven/Katarina with volley and Ashe's superior range, and if Alistar stays close to you he can prevent any all-in attempt by Riven or Katarina with headbutt and pulverize. In order to lose the lane, either he probably used his abilities at very improper times to give her a window to engage, took too much harass from Katarina Q's, or just walked too close to Riven.

tell me how alistar + your range allowed riven or kat to get close enough to kill you i think its more of a combination of poor positioning and lack of peel

riven has like 4 short dashes with brief pauses... respond to that and run the other way hell you shouldnt really have to cuz if ur far away enough as you hould be, she cant reach you

kat hops onto you? this is why you got big scary anti assassin alistar

A champ that is not ranged is called "melee".
