So I just hit 30 and I know I'm not ready for ranked quite yet but I want to know if my plan will work so I can start after. I main top lane and I have 4 top laners I am good with and 2 others that I'm decent with, jungle I have maokai who I'm good with I also have ww, support I have Braum and soraka. Adc and mid are kind of iffy I have annie for mid and adc I can play sivir ok same with graves but I don't own him. So my plan is to finish off my runes( only need some quints) get graves and I'm unsure what mid laner I want I've also thought about going safe and maybe getting another support and jungler so does this all sound like good enough preparation before I start ranked?

get Kayle for mid, and Tristana is free. Ashe since you don't have graves, MasterYi for jungle, maybe Ryze for mid since you only have 1 (plus kayle) for mid there you got your roster. have fun :3 3 in each role, and all it cost you is 1800 more ip. complete your ap and ad rune pages and you're set the most IP efficient way to start ranked. PS: fk all that mental prep thing people keeps going on about. it's the fear of that mental thing that loses you your placements. Akali "hesitation is the seed of defeat"

What I can tell you from my experience is, don't take pride in your best lane and play with confidence in your weakest lane.

Even if you're a disappointment in others eye, do not let that drag you down. If you play with confidence as an ADC or mid, trust me, it will literally carry your weakest lane to the strongest lane. If you do fail and mentally give up, that's not confidence.

Yea just complete your AP and AD general rune pages, you'd be fine, I promise. You're totally more prepared than me when I start ranked, lol! Just main a role or two. I only play ADC and Support and I always get either ADC or support, even if I'm last pick. I'd recommend you to pick up support since most people don't like supporting, and it's a fill role. As you climb higher, supporting will be hard to carry as, though. You should totally main a role or two (one of them should be support/jungle!). I find mid and jungle really impactful throughout the game. I find ADC and support hard to climb, but that's just me. Seriously, though, you should just main a role or two. No need to fill. I'm sure if you're last pick you can say "fill but can't [insert role here]" in pre-game lobby and one of your teammates will fill that role (if not, dodge if you really can't play that role, like I can't play jungle at all).

to add a bit to what "hi im malaysian" said, besides just mainning a role (have 2 and have a knowledge of the others) you should think about what main champions you play for those roles. If you're going to get another support I would suggest Leona and for Jungle Vi, I think you might do well with those.

I think everyone ranks differently. I know some people who rush straight into rank without preparing. There are others who are careful and don't want to be bad by preparing themselves. Either way, it's up to you. :) But as a general tip, I think most people who want to rank should prepare themselves first if they care. You dont have to fully prepare yourself, even though that's completely up to you. BUT YEAH c:

I mean this is a pretty solid plan it is definitely a good idea to finish off rune pages first and its always nice to have a main champion like your go to if you can get that lane so like you said top is your main so try to get that as much as possible which isnt usually the case... other than that just improve on your less played lanes and be open to playing whatever comes your way when you go into ranked and always always work on the basics like csing warding and so on and you should be on a great path to starting ranked with the new season GL :D

Add me :) we can run a few games and i can possibly give a prediction as to where u might end of if u rank. (Did this with 3 of my friends and Im currently averaging 1 tier off, e.g. predicted silver 2, got silver 3) :P
