Okay so here is the deal, I'm a Bronze 1 currently (no i don't believe in elo hell) and I've been trying recently to make the jump to silver V before the end of season. At this point I don't even care about the boarder or rewards or the fact that I wont be in bronze anymore but holy cow I can't seem to buy a win... Even today after a solid 8 game skid I hopped into another game went and we even managed to grab 2 inhibs and all was going well until our vayne DC'd and we ended up losing a 4v5 in what wouldve been a sure win...

at this point I don't know what Im doing wrong. Im not the best player but I wan't to improve but somehow I feel like you need to have some kind of luck to succeed in solo q. All my friends keep saying "If you're truly good enough youll be able to carry yourself out" but man I just can't seem to do it.

My question is what am I doing wrong? should I just ride it out and keep trying or maybe focus one role until I start chaining wins together?

play something you know you can carry with.

Someone DC'ing doesn't put the game on you, it could happen to anyone at any time. Stick to roles that push towers HARD, -jungle/top- for solo dependency, and force objectives constantly. Make the calls, handle the objectives, keep vision control and pray to god someone doesn't throw a hissy fit.

If you really want to rank up, find a champion that you are good at and that is also good for the meta. I was Silver 3 last season but this season I picked up Zilean and mained him support. I started in Bronze 3 and made it all the way to Plat. Doesn't matter what role you pick as long as you play it well. Good luck!

A little bit of it is luck. It's a matter of how many games you play. If you belong in Silver, you will get there as long as you play enough games. It feels bad to lose several games in a row, but when it happens you know you'll be able to bounce back because you'll be up against weaker opponents. Each time you slide down, trust that you're going to have an easy time climbing back up to where you were, and then it comes down to luck again as you get closer to your true MMR.

It's great that you've accepted that you're a player who can improve greatly. Having a mentality of "I'm good, and my teams are always bad" is a , well, a bad mentality to.

The biggest problem that I see with Bronze/Silver players is that they tend to make very poor judgments in the game that could have been avoided completely. Examples would be chasing for too long, or just chasing into an area with out vision.

Believe it or not, the game has a pretty steep learning curve. And it can only be conquered with experience. Learning from past mistakes is the only way you're improve. Losing sucks, but you learn the most from losses than win. If you want some in-game help, add me! I'm a Platinum 2, and I climbed from Silver 3 to Platinum in one season.

Holy fuck, typed out a bunch of tips then closed the window. What a scrub.

Well this won't be as well put, but here is what i keep in mind:

**1) **Be polite in champ select. Pick order > Call order 2) Be aware of match ups and team comps. If you have last pick, try and pick something that fits in well (if you know how to play the champ) **3) **Learn a champ well enough to be able to claim you "main" them. Have a main in each role, and then as you get more champs have at least 2 that you can always play. Mine are: Top: fiora/irelia/wukong mid: karma/syndra Jungle: diana/sej Adc: MF/sivir/Cait Support: Nami/Leona/Karma You'll notice i like to have dashes in the top lane, early game damage and flexiblity in the mid lane, AP in the jungle (dives), idk what my adcs have in common, and CC in the support role. Find champs that fit the way you want to play the role. 4) Ward. Place your yellow at 1 min so its back up at 3 (common double buff gank). Buy at least 2 pinks a game. Buy a green every time you go back after like 6 mins (if you can afford it. Don't camp 75 gold) **5) ** Ping. Even if your lane has been out of sight for 5 seconds, if you dont' know where they are and whether or not you follow, PING. If they leave lane, you ping and top/bot backs off then you just got 30-45 seconds of free CSing, tower damage, and exp that they did not. **6) **If you are support make sure you grab a red trinket when you get your sight stone. Clear wards. 7) Upgrade your trinket late game. Even if you are full build you should try and ward. 8) Keep an eye on the mini map. MAP AWARENESS. Watch which lanes are pushed, watch where your jungle is (will he be able to countergank), watch where the other jungler shows his face (don't place a ward on the top side of mid when you just saw him die bot). **9) **Play smart in lane. That doesn't mean play super passive, it means take the shots you know you'll hit, dodge everything you can, ward all ur blind spots, watch their pot usage, pay attention to summoner spell CDs, their normal spell CDs. Just be smart. Hell, look up their CD's if you dont' know them before the game starts. It'll help you know when you can trade. ex. Ahri throws out her charm and q, misses both. You have a few seconds to fuck her up, or at least force her off CS. Take it. 10) Do NOT play champs just because they are good in the match up. Play champs you know how to play. 11) Put ping and announcer volume up. Pay attention to who is getting kills, and where things are happening. I've missed pings then told my team "Sorry about that, i'll turn off the music" and turned off my pandora. Pay attention. 12) Always be farming. Set a goal for 10 and 20 mins, and always try to hit it. It doesn't matter if you have 10 deaths or 10 kills, go for that goal (mine has always been 150 at 20 mins. You can get 230.).Certain people will play for the kills, but if you play the farm game (get those jungle camps) you can leave lane 2 kills behind and be perfectly fine. **13) **Tell your team mates when they do something good, or thank them when they save you. This is important in bot lane, you'll find that many support players do it because they like to be in a motherly/fatherly role. They want to save you, they like when you realize that they are putting themselves in danger for you. Dont' be a brat (i'm an mid main this season, adc last season).

14)Call ppl "baby" or "sexy", they like that shit for some reason. Don't do it unless they are actually doing something right tho lol.

  1. FINALLY, pay attneiton to objectives. PLAY THE OBJECTIVE GAME. I like to think its: Inhib>2 outter towers> baron > 1 tower >dragon. This clearly changes as the game goes on. If they are taking a tower, try to trade or take dragon in response. If they are taking baron and you are too far behind to answer, take dragon. If baron is up but you are too low to do it, take what you can or just back. Grab a tower or dragon.

I dont' know everything, not a perfect player, but this is just what comes to mind.

ELO hell very much is a thing, my friend. Solo Queue is TERRIBLE for your ELO and your rank. It's impossible to know what the others are thinking and it DOES come down to a bit of luck with the kind of people you're matched up with.

It is a LOT about luck TBH, especially in bronze and silver. Some games are just un-winnable, and that's fine. You can't win 'em all.

However, there's probably a lot of times where you threw the game, but not in an obvious way... There's other ways to throw games besides being 0/12/0

Maybe you didn't buy a ward in the mid game which caused someone to get caught out, and started snowballing an assassin on the enemy team.

Maybe your positioning in a team fight wasn't optimal. Maybe you dove the backline when you should have peeled for your carries...

Maybe you were farming when you should have been grouping, or the other way around.

There's a lot of subtle things you could probably be doing better. Just focus on making your game as tight as possible and eventually you'll climb out of bronze

And take breaks between losses to avoid going on tilt.

My best advice is: 1)be sure to ban what's strong in bronze. Not everyone down there knows that Yi can easily be stopped with a large amount of CC, just as 1 example. 2)never try anything new (when it comes to champions) in ranked, it's just gonna not go well. 3)if you find someone you go well with in your solo matches, see if they wanna duo

It's really just down to the basics in the end, such as CSing well, map awareness, buying a couple wards as any role, practice better positioning, and learning priorities at varying moments. If you do well with most/all of these, then only time will tell and the RNG of your teammates kicks in.
