<HELP NEEDED> Long time gamer who need's help really "learning" League

OK, so I've been playing League on and off for a few years. I've had my account since beta actually, but never 'played' until THIS year for some reason. I dono, got bored with my hundred games on Steam I guess? (how I did that don't ask)

But I SUCK and I know I do. I keep getting berated for playing champs like Ahri ... OK so Ahri my main. Not the Waifu shit either, I like her kit. Dash, burst, Dash out, cool down, dash back in burst. I get the concepts but ... I suck.

I suck at everything from lane phase, to last hitting, to knowing when I have a fucking chance in hell to go in or when to back off.

AND I just got put into Silver II (And then promptly demoted to Silver III after a HORRIBLE streak...)

So, does anyone have advice, tutorials, or anything in general to give me more of a guide of ALL the mechanics I need to be aware of BESIDES just practice?

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCeGtVfZD9LVttCJzjIJLY1g this channel really helped me understand straight mechanics that you need to know, some of the information is outdated - but still relevant.

Hey sounds like you are a guy that genuinely wants to improve!

I want to start off by saying for not playing often silver III is really good. That means you are better then 50% of the player base which is huge.

Now for me I'm a competitive person always looking to improve. I just hit diamond V myself. I would be willing to coach you if you are interested the link below has more info.

I wouldn't be able to help until my computer is fixed but if you add me on league feel free to message me when I'm online ( predicting my computer to be up and running this fri or Saturday fingers crossed the gfx card for my computer I had finished was faulty so been computer less and LOL-less, withdrawals OP for about 2 weeks now so excited for this weekend.

I don't play much mid let alone Ahri, sadly I can't help you on mechanics or mid. Please help your support ward by upgrading your trinket. I noticed you remember to upgrade sweeper when you jungle, but not the yellow trinket when you play mid.

If you want to play some games sometime I record every game I play in spectate mode and I can take a look and see if I find any major flaws.

Ahri's a bit of a special case within the mages. She's got a little underwhelming damage, but makes up for that with hard cc and mobility. In the end, you'll need to outplay an opponent to win your lane. This drop in power is lessened with items, but just remember her power spikes are later than most.

As for the rest, recognizing power spikes through items is something I'm still learning. It's not gonna come easy, but it will in time. The best way to figure out who's stronger is to look at items and figure out where you and your opponent's strengths lie. If you've got only a Forbidden Idol item 3114 and an Amplifying Tome item 1052 while they've got a Blasting Wand item 1026 and a Faerie Charm item 1004, you will loose trades due to them having more AP, and therefore more damage. However, you could play the lane in your favor over time through your higher mana sustain.

If you're going to try and join a fight, identify who your targets are first before you jump in. The primary targets are usually squishy carries in the back line. Once you know who you're trying to kill, figure out if you can make that happen. Do you have enough health to survive a skirmish? Is your team prepared to engage and lock them down for you?

All in all, knowing when to back off is more important, and also easier to recognize. Team's on low health? Back off. Low mana? Back off. Spells on CD? Back off for a little.

Now, as for last hitting, the best tip I can give is to just practice it. Doing it live will work, but some dedicated time will help immensely. The best method I've found is to practice it in custom games. Make a game, choose the champ you need practice with, pick a lane, and just farm. If you want, or when you feel ready, add a bot to simulate harassment from a laner. Try not to kill the bot, just harass them back until they have to back. Eventually, farming should come second nature to you, and you can practice wave control (freezing, pushing, etc.).

Hope this helps. Good luck!

Scrap Computer is an amazing guide maker and analyst who makes guides with absurd amounts of detail and information. He made a mid lane guide a while ago, you might need to dig a little but it's well worth it. However, his champion guides are about an hour long and his laning guides can be up to 3-4 hours long (much like the aforementioned mid lane guide.

Edit: Forgot to mention that he has an Ahri guide if you wanna check that out.
