Can someone teach me how to play Nami? Branching out from ADC i decided to go with support and mid being my 2 other main roles, I like to play the Mage type supports (Sona, Morg, Zyra) and also the all inness of tank supports (Leona mainly) I just bought Nami thanks to the Party Rewards IP. I jus thave no idea what to do with her. Starting ability, what to build, what to max, what to do in lane, how to use my Q and ult correctly. Can someone help me out?

I recommend starting W and maxing it first.

i personally max Q first as it give you some poke to try and zone out the enemy, her bubble hit box is slightly wider that the bubble itself so try and predict where the enemy is walking to and put the bubble there, depending on my laning partner/opponent depends on what i choose next, if i am receiving a lot fo poke from a Caitlyn for example i would probably put a point in W as it will negate some of the damage. If however I'm with a vayne who is heavily auto attack based then a point in E can really help increase her damage. but only do this if she is doing well.

i would then normally max my Q first as it is my main form of CC and can easily catch one or two enemy champions out. maybe putting a second point in my W if my team are squishy or receiving a lot of poke. I would always max my E last.

the ult is a trick one as it has many uses, but my best suggestion is to use it when there is a chase scenario going on. for example if your team is chasing your opponents. then use it to slow them and help your team catch up. alternatively if your team is being chased then use it to disengage the enemy team.

hope that helps, let me know if you have any more questions.

another option is to max the W first, as it will provide more heals for you team, whereas levelling up the Q does not provide more CC. up to you, id recommend trying both ways and seeing which you prefer

I only use nami when Im facing Leona. If I want a healer I prefer soraka the most. Anyways, I pick nami against Leona bc when Leona goes to do her all-in combo, you know where she is going to end up. Its really easy to land a bubble on leona after her E's dash has been used. Leona's adc will 100% of the time be running towards you at that point, so using Nami's W heal on Leona, will almost always complete the full chain. If your adc is decent you either win that fight, or you have nami's ult for a good disengage. Nami works decently on thresh too. My other advice on nami is dont bother with her E for awhile, its not worth the talent point in the early game.

Add me and I can show you if we lane together. Basically on Nami, poke as much as you can with AA/W/AA. max W first because it's not a skillshot and you win trades most of the time bc it heals you. Depending on how were doing, I max Q or E next. If I'm playing with an aggressive ADC, I tend to max E for the extra damage and slow (great for chases with Nami's speed boost passive).

Typically you want to ult as an engage or disengage. Fighting in the jungle is more advantageous (ofc depends on team comps though) because there's less space to dodge Nami's ult. Ult sets you up for a Q followup because it slows. So a trick is if you ult or someone gets hit by an E-buffed AA, Q them because it's easier to hit the Q.

For the Leona scenario, I typically W my ADC, ignore Leona, and bubble the ADC because THEIR positioning is predictable if they follow up. Then I E my ADC and W again when I can. Leona doesn't do damage, she just stuns and roots, so your ADC should be aiming at theirs (Le9na needs to run bc she used all her skills on your ADC, so free damage for you).

I start with a spellthief, 2 HP, 2 mp pots. Then sightstone/boots. Recently I take a Tear if were stomping lane hard because Nami's pretty Mana hungry. It's like other support builds... depends on the situation. Randuins or frozen heart, banner of command is good on Nami, lich bane if you're super ahead/Yolo mode, locket or mikaels if you need it

I max E if we're doing well and W if it's a fair or hard match up. If you AA them you can then E yourself while the projectile is in the air and the slow can help get you an additional proc.

It depends on the situation. If I am against a heavy poke or mobility lane at lvl 1 I start heal, Other than that I start Q. If the lane is rough I will sometimes put 2 points in W before maxing Q, I almost always max Q first though.

What to do in lane: I normally try to poke as much as I can with all abilities. If this is not an option I heal the ADC as much as possible to keep them in lane.

What I build: I get item 3092 and item 2049 of course. For boots I go item 3117 mostly. If I plan to go more offensive I build items like item 3174 and item 3089 If I want to be an offensive utility person I get item 3116 or item 3151 And for mostly utility I go for item 3143 item 3190 item 3060 item 3110 ect.

Landing your Q is just about predicting where the enemy will be after you cast it. It should be used to either lock down the damage dealers or to peel for yours. Your ult can be used to initiate a team fight. Best used when they are all grouped up. It can also be used to disengage. If you cast it as they go in most times your team will be able to get out.

E maxed first can be good if you have an ADC that can make good use of it, either out ranging the opponent Caitlyn to use it for poke or being able to proc all three hits quickly for really bursty trades Lucian . If maxing W, you have to make each cast count or it will place a large burden on your mana pool. Q max is good if your opponents are bad at dodging it, but is something that becomes less worthwhile as you go against better opponents.

Q is very slow, you need to apply a slow (E, R, or another souce) to have a good chance of landing it unless you can predict where the target is going to be. Speaking of which, a lot of people at lower match maker ratings then to run away from you when they see a bubble coming, so aiming behind them works wonders against people with this tendency.
