4 items on a champ?
What happens if you give three items on a tier 2 champion and give an item on the same tier 2 champion and then make it a tier 3? Does a random item "drop out"? Just curious.

1 item drops probably the last one or the created one by the merging
Before it would break off 1 item, I think they may have changed it to break off all items though. That way you don't lose an item you preferred to be on a champ for one you didn't.
It would remove the items off of the one with less items.
