The more I look at posts on TFT right now, the less I'm interested in trying it

I really don't know anything about AutoChess, other than it exists and now seems to be the next trend to grab straws after (before of which was Battle Royal and I wasn't a fan of that). Honestly I only found out about this concept from Dota's Underlords mode from a few weeks ago. So, when I heard about League doing its own version I knew they were following a trend but decided to see what they would do because it could be interesting.

But as of late with all of these posts I'm getting less and less interested in trying the game mode out. I mean, from what everyone is saying, it's:

  • Extremely long wait times
  • Super RNG chance of picks and affecting wins
  • LOOTBOXES FOR GOD DAMN AVATARS (the worst in my opinion)

I don't really see what Riot is trying to do here to make this more unique. At least with Battle Royal I can understand and there was some variety at the very least (again, not my cup of tea overall though). But here, from what I'm seeing it just looks the same, except you can move an avatar around....woo?

It just feels like Riot has no idea how to handle putting out a new mode. I mean, this just feels exactly like how Clash is being handled. You remember Clash? I barely do because Riot can't seem to get it to fucking work! And I don't even have any interest in it! We lost Nexus Blitz, a game mode that I actual thought was a great change of pace for League and could of been excellent if it was permanent, in exchange for RNG luck based auto match simulator.

It's a complete confusing mess with no direction or guidance at all.

Not trying to defend Riot but here's a few points I'd like to bring up (outside of the unfair RNG for items and champions).

  1. Dota's auto chess has been out for half a year longer than TFT which came to live servers just a few days ago

2.The long wait times was just on the first day (haven't played today) but they've definitely improved since yesterday. The queue popped for me within 3 seconds yesterday while the first day I waited over an hour just to play one match

  1. You should be able to buy which avatar you want, but it's just like skins and is purely cosmetic (so I don't know why people are complaining about not getting one? Like it's your choice to buy one, not to mention that Riot is giving you a free one once the missions hit live that you can choose out of 3 avatars)
