I used to enjoy a casual TFT with friends now and then... But then Hextech became a thing.

I don't know. This gamemode already felt way too unfair due to the randomized drops, but i could somewhat manage.

But now you're telling me there's a champion combination that can completely remove the few items i DO get, when the first person lucky enough to get this combo is the only one with any hopes of maxing it out?

Nope. Unplayable, unfortunately. I really don't think the right way to deal with the noble meta is to make another must-have set of champions.

I don't play a lot of TFT on this account, however, have you tried spacing out your item carrying champs?

If the person running hextech manages to be one of the fewer players left, then start spacing your champions out. 3 out of the 4 hextech champions are garbage, while Jinx only gets good when she first can get a couple assists. They specifically made the Hextech champions sub-par to make up for the fact that they disable items, i've tried hextech a good amount already and its obvious they suck as champions alone. People were complaining constantly about the RNG in items just like me where someone can get items every minion wave while you get none, so this was one way in dealing with items.

Honestly, they're making you spread out your champions which adds a lot to the gameplay, versus just grouping everyone tight together with your best guy in the middle every time. You can counter hextech with spacing but it seems people just don't want to do it.

And agreed, the hextech champs themselves are not that strong, I've won many a round where someone hexes my guys and I still easily win the round.

I have won 34 of my last 35 games as #1 or #2, and the only Hextech I run is Jinx .

(The one loss I tried to deviate from the meta, and build a Sorcerer Comp with Demons, because I just couldn't get any meta champ cards in my first ~ 9 rounds)

I literally see people start meta, and sell it about halfway through the game for some obscure build off in left field. That's why people struggle with TFT. They don't stick to the meta, and destroy their econ doing something dysfunctional.
