Why is Kassadin Anti-Mage?
Is the existence of Anti-Mage so important for Auto Chess? Manaburn's pretty much unrelated to his kit in League (or any kit in League, actually)

It really does gimp whoever Kassadin is fighting from casting abilities. Pretty pertinent if you ask me. It means mages can't cast AoE spells, assassins can't cast execution spells, tanks and supports can't cast crowd control or lifesaving spells. And you're kinda force to take him out, having to deal with his mana drain to shield passive.
copy pasta from dota to league and so the cycle repeats and now its dota chess to league chess?
I'm not super knowledgeable about Kassadin matchups, but I thought he does fairly well into mage matchups? He's got a magic damage only shield and a channel interrupt so I don't think its completely out of left field.
Plus, its not like they are adhering strictly to the main game as far as mechanics go. Needlessly Large Rod items fit well on Garen even though they're garbo on him typically. Its like what they say about the lore: the abilities in-game are not always one-to-one to the lore, just as abilities in TFT are not a one-to-one to the abilities in League.
Kassadin used to steal mana because he was a rip off champ of DoTA.
