The only two things about TFT that actually need to be addressed
Hello RIot, I have been playing this game mode for the last eleven hours now and I have done both very well and very poorly.
What I have always appreciated about League is that nothing in the game depends on luck (except blindly shooting an Ezreal ult at a dragon every once in a while). Teamfight Tactics completely undermines that principle, and it makes what would otherwise be an enjoyable and challenging strategy game into a game of blackjack.
I won't hate on you too much; I could never design a game and I appreciate all the tremendous amounts of work that you do and have done. Please consider the following:
-
Item drops are either a)too essential or b)too unpredictable. What I mean is that the item drops you get at the beginning can win or lose the entire game for you. This does not necessarily need to be changed, since items are and always have been an important part of the game. However, if items' effects are not going to be nerfed to some degree, especially in their interactions with certain champions (Vayne with rageblade in the first matchup? I mean, come on), then they need to be balanced in their rate of appearance so that everyone has the same amount of items and it becomes reliant on the skill of the players to combine them in the correct way with the correct team comp to be maximally effective.

Leveling and champion appearance are disproportionately effective. Leveling up is absolutely necessary to win, since it determines the amount of champions you can deploy. However, as you level up, the champion pool increases tremendously and the appearance rate of the champions you began the game with decreases commensurately. It becomes incredibly difficult to actually create level 3 champions without wasting a lot of money refreshing your pool towards the middle of the game. The pool needs to be increased to ten champions, which would not only utilize a greater range of the higher level champions in the end game but also encourage a more competitive and interestingly diverse early-mid game.
Also, the adcs are incredibly strong, and since mages are automatically targeted by assassins and often die without ever being able to use their abilities, they have pretty effectively taken over the game. I am not sure how intentional this was, but a level 3 aurelion sol should not be so easily embarrassed by a level 3 varus.
