Why does "Play" button on TFT screen take you to normals?

Just saying I've played a lot of normals unintentionally, because I went to check my stats after ranked. Would much prefer it function as a 'Play Again' button that remembered my preference. Also isn't ranked the more popular mode? Especially for people who are using the TFT screen more. So normals is a weird default.
