To easy to go the same thing as 4 other guys...

Something I've been noticing that I'd like to see change. Right now its not punishing enough to just go the same thing as 4 other guys. So many games I've lost because 4 guys go gun slingers and create a full stack team of them with right items, I on the other hand try and counter with Bruisers and just barely get it (this is one example). I think because I noticed what was the least likely to be successful going for should be more rewarding since I was paying attention. Basically its just to easy for 4 guys to go the same thing, and I dont think this is good design. Maybe at most 3 guys could go successfully towards something, and still this should more often then not be succesful. Right now, as a plat player, it just happens to often.

Id like to see more things that reward smart play, over rng. 4 lvl 2 pykes spread across different teams, 4 level 2 Kennen spread across different teams, 3-4 elemental teams, 3-4 gunslinger comps. Its just to easy......

Yes it definitely is, however in a world where there are only 2 comps viable it is probably not a good idea to change that.

But yes, going for specific comp is really easy especially if that comp doesn't rely on getting gold1 units to t3. It is too easy to get tier2 and too hard to get tier3. That makes getting levels up early going for tier2 most reliable strategy.

I don't know why you call forcing a comp the smart play in this situation? The concept of this game is really easy and yet people don't get it: you work with what you get. For example I just played a game were 4 people went demons and 2 went gunslinger/blademaster. So I went for sorcerer (could have been assasin or something else that no one was going but game gave me sorc) and won the thing because people buy each other out. I was able to easy grab 3 tier3 2 cost units and stomp them. (I must say I bought 4 Dravens so none of the 2 got a tier2 and I sat on 2 Brands) It is pretty simple to counter when multiple people force a certain comp you take what you get that no one else is going for while buying high tier units that the others need for their comps and you have a free win. If the game gives you stuff that others are forcing you sell it all and build a new comp unless you got so much of it that there is no point in doing that.

That isnt possible, btw. because they auto-combine. The best you can do is (2) 2 star and a 1 Star

You won't see 4 2-star Draven's running around. But my wife got a 3-star Draven in a Plat game with me yesterday. Because we scouted and saw what was over-saturated and didn't touch that stuff.(We got 1st and 2nd) The numbers get punishing at 4 & 5. And it makes a BIG difference. Smart play allows me to still get 50% 1st place in Platinum.
