TFT Item UI and RNG
Of course TFT isn't perfect and we can all assume it never will reach such a distant status similar to all things in the world; that being said I have a few propositions that may instill a better sense of strategy to the game mode. The item UI among champions and the RNG mechanic within TFT by popular opinion is in need of some changes and I suggest some unique ones but am also here to emphasize previously mentioned and key elements that need attention in TFT.
1a (Issue). Item UI, Item Moving: So I think this could possibly slightly aid the RNG issue with TFT aka the random number generator for item drops, their chances and the type of item dropped. Items within TFT play an absolute undeniable role on how each round may play out, but after committing to a specific champion(s) with items you soon realize that there isn't much room for variability without changing the entire build for a net gold loss. You cant move items from champion to champion, you can't commit to new champions, you have to hope and pray that you will get enough champions for tier 3 down the line after placing your GA, BT and RFG on your tier 2 Draven. Soon you realize the build is falling apart and you are forced to make rash decisions while on the clock and suddenly you go from Glacial/Brawlers to Yordle/Wild in a matter of 20 seconds. 1b (Solution). Item UI, Item Moving: The solution to this vast issue is simply implementing the ability within the UI to move items from champion to champion (And back into the item bay for whatever reason), with this ability people with lesser items don't have to rely on luck and can apply themselves further than just their build to fully use the potential of the few items they may have.
2a (Issue). Item UI, Item Re rolling: Its agitating to obtain useless items in general or items that may have little to no pertinence to your build, this is an issue I know many have undergone, but regardless you are stuck with the item or forced to use it in conjunction with another item to build a semi-ok full item but, why should we settle for 'ok'? 2b (Solution). Item UI, Item Re rolling: My suggestion is an item re rolling system, you can use X amount of gold to re roll a single item and X amount of gold (Naturally would be a larger amount) to re roll a full item; my reasoning for making it a larger amount is simply because a full item being classified as junk is considered a more dire situation and should therefore cause the player to contemplate his actions before simply throwing it in. With this system it has the ability to also alleviate pressure that TFT is experiencing from item RNG, if you get bad items then you no longer must fret and can easily re roll for new ones. As a post note, this system should be fully random as to not allow people extremely ahead to skim the system for specific items to allow them to fully dominate games.
3a (Issue). Item RNG, Generalization: To simplify this issue which in all reality isn't anything of the such would be to say that item RNG is too random. You really never no if you are going to get something and if it will at all be useful or just a gold coin, perhaps two; this allows a randomized variety of items among all players as I have heard and experienced. This system seems fair at first but soon you realize that it is far too random and creates a wide range of power over the early game that of course impacts scaling into the late game. 3b (Solution). Item RNG, Generalization: My honest response to this is that I have no clue what a permanent solution could look like, I've thought of streak systems similar to win/loss where your chances would increase/lower based on your item count in comparison to the rest of the players to get items. I've also explored a number of other possibilities none of which meet the simplicity TFT brings to the table essentially destroying them because that is something TFT should always uphold. In conclusion to this issue, I believe there could be many different changes although none of which I could simply settle on as this is an extremely sensitive topic.
As a general conclusion I thank you for viewing the thread an strongly encourage honest remarks as that is the only way we can bring light to the subject.
