TFT Assasins ignore tanks in the back and go for carries.

It's frustrating when the game is supposed to be about tactics and positioning, but I can stack 3 tanks behind my line of carries and as soon as the fight starts they just run out front and leave the carries to die. Why don't the assassins target the tanks?

If this was intentional riot I think there should be a unit type that will chill in the back and peel or something. Add it as a guardian trait. SMH Braum and Leona in the back not protecting anyone.

Know who destroys Assassin Comps? Morgana

Give her item 3285 and make sure to have at least 2 other sorcerers, good cheap choices in Kassadin Ahri and Lulu

set her close by your rangers (just behind your tanks) and laugh out loud as the Assassins get one shot by her Ult.

Lulus a great take as her Ult will keep your Rangers alive

I'd honestly say Guardians are actually weaker than they should be right now, Knights do their job better, especially Sejuani and a leveled up Darius

I wouldn't recommend going full on sorcerer into late game however, they're usually killed easily by Rangers, especially if the enemy have Kindred and Mordekaiser

Why don't the assassins target the tanks?

I'll answer that with a question: In a normal game of League (Summoners Rift) what target do Assassins chose to prioritze?

Last game I successfully got one of my tanks to peel for the carries. My secret? Clumped everyone on right side, stuck Aatrox with Redemption on the left side. Every time the enemy started right side, their front line hit my front line, and the assassins would go for Aatrox all the way across the map, while my backline rolled for crits and charged their spells. Every time they started left side their assassins would dive my whole army first, while the rest of the army charged Baaitrox. Either way I won. Brand did most of the damage, but Baaitrox was the real carry.

Well, at least it's realistic

I mean, you can still position your team so assassins have no other choice, but to attack the chosen by you unit.

But otherwise yes, I'm kinda wishing for something like Axe in Dota Underlords, who has an AoE taunt. It could be a good idea for Galio probably, and add up him to the Guardian class.

Because the tanks move forward and leave the carries there.

Stack them in a corner, put a "bait" unit off to the side, etc. Whatever you can.

The best way I found to deal with assassins is to position your whole team in a corner as tight as possible. That way when they leap in the beginning of the round, they will land in front of your tanks. However you need to kill those assassins very quickly so make sure your team has the damage. Kennen and Morg does a good job nailing all of them. Perhaps even run a glacial comp to stun them constantly. Assassins leap towards the furthest target, so if you leave gaps behind or in front of your carry, they will die quickly.

If the assassins are positioned right in front of a enemy unit when the round starts they will NOT jump.

You have to keep moving when you see the assassin player changing his position too.

They cannot jump to the back if there isnt a free tile for them to jump to. Its likely you not setting up your units correctly. If your tanks have no free tile open next to them, the assassins wont jump to them and go for them.

Assassin's jump for the weakest target tho
