It’s a bye, and it happens in any game with a structure like this.
I don’t see anything wrong with it. It makes sense that the enemy comp doesn’t receive all its buffs and stuff, because otherwise the player can lose health but can’t take any health away from the real enemy player. That’s not a good formula.
Just giving away a free round is a bad idea too, because there’s not going to be an even number of byes per game. So you could effectively tilt the scales inadvertently by allowing someone a free pass, while another player doesn’t get that same freebie
I think they way they’ve implemented it is the best of both worlds. You still get the bye, but you can’t just AFK it and win — you could technically lose health if you’re that far behind or you’re being careless. It serves as a sort of power check.
I actually appreciate the way it’s done currently. It’s a fairly elegant solution to a problem that’s not exactly easy to solve (not enough 1v1 matches to go around)
