This would add a layer of strategy that the game could use. Right now, we just pick a random item and champ with a limited degree of thought. If we have the carousel after the first 3 minions, we will have a bench of champs and hopefully a item or two. At this point, we can actually pick something that is meaningful to us. This would also mean we would need to start with maybe 2 gold to buy our first champ.

This would be a fine change if they finally made the number of dropped items constant for everyone.
Delete the first carousel completely! It does nothing than add MORE RNG to the game.
I like the idea of the later carousels because it helps losing players due first pick.
But the first one is completely random. You can't see what champs are in it until the last second before it opens and then you have to pick one who is close to you most of the time because if you go a longer way you risk getting nothing and end with a trash champ. So it's just luck if you have a good champ close to you.
I think that would save me the trouble of throwing the first few rounds.
I think the carousel is fine mostly because it allows people who disconnect during loading to still have a chance at the game instead of auto losing the first three minion waves.
I mean, yeah, there's very little thought that goes into it - you're basically only looking to pick up a Recurve Bow if you can - but it still allows a disconnect to have something available there.
First caro is for clearing the first wave and getting a single free item.
Youll almost always sell this champ the moment you clear the first few minions.
Why not just give everyone their own personal carosel? That way everyone can build wht items they want and not have to risk people watching them and denying them?
I mean.. maybe..
But in 3 of 5 games I just take what ever 2-Cost with a decent item I can get and sell it before the first PVP anyway.
And how would you pick the first champ against creeps than?
Only problem would be... You don't have a champ to fight the minions. They could give us 1-2 gold to start, but then people would be butthurt when they get a nice roll first round and they can't buy everything. I guess they could start us all off with some basic 2 gold champ that will beat the first round, but you'd be surprised how much this could mess with the early game economy considering that would give an extra 1-2 gold champ that we pick from the carousel AFTER the creep rounds.
It's not a horrible idea, but I'm just saying it would take some planning, not just as simple as move this carousel to this time.
Honestly I'm fine with it as is since you can just sell the first unit but you could run things either way
They should just remove the carousel from the game completely and put a shop in that lets you use gold for items.
