How do we get new people interested in league?

We started a new league club at the college that I attend. As a club, we need help brainstorming how to draw in people that never have heard of the game. Some ideas that we have so far are events like first timer 2v2 tourney or a education "learn how to play".

Any suggestions you have would be great. All we want to do is grow the local league community.
