LFM Serious Season 7 Flex Team (Gold 2+ Only) [Repost]

EDIT: Please do not apply if you are not at least Gold 5 in Flex unless you are at least Platinum 3 in Solo/Duo. It is hard to try people out when one of the best tryouts is Platinum in flex and I am two games away from Platinum.

This is a repost of a previous thread. We are not looking for midlaners. We are accepting at most six people in each role for the tryout. So far we have:

Top: 1/6 (1 Declined) Jungle: 3/6 (1 Declined) Bot: 3/6 (1 Declined) Support: 0/6

#Introduction Greetings, Summoners!

Arcade Gumiho here, just your average Ahri one-trick pony. For the next two weeks I will be holding daily tryouts to secure a great team for climbing the Flex queue latter in the season-to-come. I plan to have the pseudo-main team determined by next Friday so we can get a little practice in between the 2nd and the 8th, though the solidified team will not be announced until the 6th (giving us a day break, time to practice, and time to schedule). If you do not make it into the main roster, worry not! This team will also be forming a club of all of the best players throughout the tryouts. This way, if you don't make it into the main roster, you'll still have a group of people who are equal or more skilled than you who are also wanting a group to flex queue with! As well, you'll be available to fill for the main roster when needed!

A little about myself: Laugh all you want, but I am an aspiring professional (meaning I want to become a professional, not that I am) that has been playing League of Legends since late Season 2. My favourite role is midlane, though I am more well-rounded in the botlane (as in I have a wider and more solidified champion pool bot than I do mid). However, I've recently been working on expanding my champion pool, as if I am to become a professional I need to be able to play more than just Ahri. My secondary champions, currently, are Aurelion Sol, Syndra, and Orianna, though I am more than willing to expand my champion pool even further if the meta calls for it. I am terrible at AD midlaners, and wish to only play control mages. I have a very team-oriented playstyle--I work better in a team environment than I do in a solo environment--which is why flex queue is perfect for me. My highest elo achieved is Platinum 5, though on a different account. This account is a smurf that will be taking over as my main (if you need evidence it's a smurf, just look at my runes, stats [unranked], and etcetera). Other than that, if you wish to know anything else about me

#The Tryout

So, what will I be looking for throughout the tryouts? The first and most important thing: Determination. I'm looking for players that are both determined to improve themselves as well as determined to win any game no matter how unwinnable it seems. I need a group of players that will never give up; that will continue to try their absolute hardest even when backed against the wall. My ranked philosophy is that if a challenger can 1v3 silvers and win, if a challenger can climb from Bronze 5 to Plat 2 without a single loss, then if you play 100% correctly you can overcome any obstacle that stands in your way. Every time my team is extremely behind and wants to give up, I tell them, "Play like you're Challenger." A small pep talk and that line alone is usually enough to get the team back on their toes and win the game.

Second, I'll be paying a lot of attention to attitude. People who tilt easily are not wanted, under any circumstances, at all. This includes people that go silent when they get behind or are unable to move on from a game. To elaborate on this: Silence for focus is fine, but not communicating the aspects of the game your role should be communicating is not. As Locodoco puts it, "Jungler, talk a lot. Midlaner, shotcall. Toplaner, tell the jungler what you need. Botlane, talk about the lane matchup." As for being unable to move on from a game, if you're still upset after a loss and say something like, "Oh, I have to go now," that's not acceptable. You need to be able to move on from a loss, learn from your mistakes, and keep going on strong. Another attitude I'll be looking at is toxicity, whether passive-aggressive or direct. You should never, under any circumstances, flame your team. I have a 0 tolerance policy for toxicity. If it happens once and we lose because of it, you're done. If we don't lose because of it, I'll talk to you about it directly, and if it happens again I'll ask you to leave the team. Touching back to the previous paragraph, the will to never give up is a huge part of attitude I'll be looking at. Lastly, I'll also be paying a lot of attention to your ability to listen. If I say, "Jungler coming to your lane," and ten seconds later you're still over-extended, unacceptable. If I say, "All head bot," and thirty seconds later you're on the other side of the map taking our red buff or w/e, unacceptable. I am a very reasonable person; I will never set an expectation that can't be met. For example, if you're dead with a 20 second timer, I won't get mad at you for not being bot 30 seconds later. Howbeit, I would expect you to head straight to the team as soon as you resurrected. You need to be able to listen to a call immediately.

Another thing I'll be looking at a lot is the willingness to play or learn what the team needs, rather than what you want. This may sound hypocritical because of my "About Me", but, on the contrary, I am willing to expand my pool if need be. For example, if our team needs a Nautilus and you say something like, "I don't want to play Nautilus," or, "I don't like playing Nautilus," that's not acceptable. If it's an issue with you not knowing how to play the champion, I'll probably ask you to play it anyway for that game so you can get an idea of how the champion fits into the specific comp, then ask you to start practicing the champion in Normals or Customs. If the champion has a high skill-cap, like Twitch, I won't, though. As a disclaimer, this will probably not happen very often, though it will definitely happen at some point.

Last, but not least, I'll be paying a lot of attention to player skill and game knowledge. This especially includes macro play. If you're constantly farming your lane even 18 minutes into the game when there are outer turrets, Dragon, or Rift Herald still up, that's not acceptable at all. You need to rotate properly according to what the game calls for. Other than that, just have the player skill and game knowledge appropriate for your elo and we'll work on the rest as a team whilst we climb.

The tryouts will take place in three phases, each phase spanning across two days. I will tryout up to three players for each needed role per day (12 players per day, 24 players total). The first phase will be to select if I see potential in you or not; how you play in just a normally set up game. The second phase will be custom 5v5s to determine, out of the selected eight, who plays their role better. The final phase will be to solidify the team; I won't drop the players that lost in phase two, I will keep testing them on the side as I practice with the pseudo-team. Then I will announce the official roster. The people who I felt were the best of the ones who didn't make it to the official roster will be welcome to stay in the team as a secondary roster.

Five Questions: (If you are a jungler, skip to questions labeled B and disregard the ones labeled A) 1A. Your jungler pings that he is moving into the enemy jungle. Shortly after, your lane goes missing, but the minion wave is shoved to your side. Your jungler has already engaged combat with the enemy jungler. How do you respond to this situation?

2A. You are behind in cs and two kills to your lane opponent. The enemy jungler is camping you and your jungler is focused on the other side of the map. Based on your role, how do you respond to the situation?

3A. You have taken your lane's tower. Dragon is alive and the other two lane's towers are still up. Your jungler has an advantage on the other jungler. What is the next step you take in the game?

4A. Your lane's tower has been taken and you are behind in cs. Your lane opponent moves to the midlane, and the enemy jungler groups up with them. How do you respond to the situation?

5A. Based on your role, describe how you'd play out a general teamfight. Make sure to describe how you'd play it out on each of the three main champions you selected.

1B. Two lanes ping that they need assistance. One lane is winning and needs you to secure a kill. The other lane is losing, pushed into their tower, and the enemy jungler is closing in on them. How do you respond to the situation?

2B. The enemy jungler has an advantage over you and is camping a snowballing lane. How do you respond to the situation?

3B. One of your laners has taken their tower. Dragon is alive and the two other lane's towers are still up. You have the advantage over the enemy jungler. What is the next step you take in the game?

4B. One of your laner's towers has been taken and you are behind the enemy jungler. That lane moves to the midlane, and the enemy jungler groups with them. How do you respond to this situation?

5B. Describe how you'd play out a general teamfight. Make sure to describe how you'd play it out on each of the three main champions you selected.
