Creating Spectate List

So I want to get better at the game, obviously. I've been playing for about 5 years and still have not improved passed Gold level. This makes it pretty clear to me that I need to stop doing the same thing every day and try something new.

That brings us to this: a spectate list.

I want to have a handful of Plat+ players on my friends list so I can spectate their games and see what type of play styles work in higher elos and what kind of mechanics provide the opportunity to carry a team.

If you are a higher rank and wouldn't mind having someone creep at you while you play games, add me in game: Megami Rinn. <3

Hello I am a coach who was coaching multiple successful teams before, in LCS style tournaments. Here is my advice on how to improve your gameplay.

  1. Have a solid and consistent schedule (Don't play 1 game today and 10 games tomorrow and then 3 games the next day. What happens is you will actually get worse when you do that. It's better to play about 3-5 games a day rather than just jumping like that. So you need to pace your self)
  2. Figure out your lane and champions. (Now this is kind of simple but tricky. If you simply want to get out of gold then pick a main role and 2 champions in that role and basically become 1 trick. However if you want to learn the game. Choose a role you want to master and stick with it unless autofilled, also don't have a champion pool exceeding 5 champions sometimes 6 also do not have it lower than 4 champions, you need to spam those champions on regular bases and basically play only those champions in ranked. If you want to relax a bit then go play normals with any champion you want)
  3. DO NOT SPECTATE DIAMOND 5-4 (Okay if you want to learn the game do no spectate them I know it sounds a bit strange but trust me their attitude towards the game is very negative and poisonous. In Diamond game if you feed they will just afk and quit [not all of them but a lot of them i'd personally say generally 70% of them])
  4. It's better to spectate your own games and figure out what you doing wrong and then spectate someone who plays the champion that you trying to learn/master to figure out what they do. Once you have these 2 pieces of info you can basically compare and evaluate. (The reason for this is because you will know what you doing wrong and then you will learn what would be the correct way of doing things, and then you can strive to achieve that correctness)
  5. DO NOT BLAME YOUR TEAM (Literally do not blame your team. You can be 10-0 and they all can be 0-10 and you are loosing well you should still blame your self and look for mistakes in your self like literally. If you want to improve you need to look at your self. Also one word of advice in solo que think of it like this. This is 1v9, if one of them decides to join me then perfect if not oh well. Basically a carry mentality that you are the one that has to carry for your team to win the game) I could go into more details and bring in some more topics but this is the gist of it.

Don't look at Plat players.

Look at Diamond players, there are a handful of Diamond5+ people on here.

Also, make a list of what you need to look out for, contrast it to how you work things in your games. You can reach Dia5+ and not have to worry about spectating people for their " mechanics " Cause honestly trying to copy mechanics should be the least of your worries. Decisions are what you need to look for, and ask why they do the things they do.

imo spectating someone isn't beneficial unless you really know what to look for, otherwise it's ineffective vs playing / focusing on gathering data from mistakes.

I doubt anyone who's made a post on here asking for help has took the time and note their own mistakes, then go back and work towards refining.

Any thing D5 and below, I would just main a role that solo carries from start till end. Like AD or Mid, I wouldn't leave it up to chance for someone else to obliterate the enemy team every game.

Here are some things that I'd like to spectate games to see:

  1. Once lane phase is over, how do I transition towards mid-late game?

Do I just keep pushing my lane and roaming when I see the chance? Do I go to another lane to help get their turret down?

  1. I'd like to see how higher elos solo lane top and mid. Do they prioritize farming or poking the opponent at the cost of cs?

Are early kills more important than farm? I'd think not, but that's how gold-elo players are.

  1. Is roaming a key factor in winning?

Would it be better to focus on steam rolling my lane or trying to ensure that at least 1 other lane is doing alright too?

  1. Where are the key spots to place wards?

Are tri-bushes still the best places to put a ward? Is Scuttles an important creep to farm whenever it's spawned?

These are just some things that I'd like to see in games that I spectate. I have played thousands of games and I can't seem to better myself. One of my biggest weaknesses is that as a support, I'm terrified to venture alone to ward. I never know where the best place to put a ward is, so I just put them in my path as I'm going.

Also, I'd love to learn how to play other roles, in general. I mean, learning to pull my own weight as support would be great too, but when all lanes feed, I can do almost nothing to help balance it out as a support. Maybe I'm wrong in that way of thinking, which is something else I'd love to learn.
