According to this you were silver 3 last season. It also states that you have 74 games this season so far, that is a lot for starting today.

Maybe they got Plat in the pre-season.

On NA.OP.GG it typically shows your last rank before reset, so it includes preseason.

Also, on http://na.op.gg/summoner/userName=ionlyapcarry if you hit "Tier Graph" and then click "Monthly" it shows:

October 2015: Silver 3 83 LP November 2015: Silver 3 in promos for Silver 2 then a gap in time where he didn't use NA.Op.GG August 2016 - Bronze 1 September 2016 - Silver 3

It looks like he more than likely placed in Bronze, which is impossible to do if you were plat 5 last season. Even if you were plat 5 with Gold 4 MMR (Lowest allowed before dropping), a 0-10 would land you in silver 5.

I'm 100% confident this is just another playing claiming to be a higher rank than they actually are/were in order to get people to duo with them and inflate their rank. It is sad how common this is, I literally call people out on this daily. 1 individual that claimed to be a D2 smurf had other smurfs duo him to Plat 5. He hasn't been able to get out of plat since and people stopped duoing with him because his stats are bad and everyone that did play with him on his climb to plat 5 complained that he didn't know what he was doing whatsoever and just played SUPER passive to inflate his KDA while being carried. It isn't hard to play a champ like ezreal and literally sit at tower, get 2-3 levels down on enemy ADC but still go like 5-2-10 when the other 4 people on your team at diamonds facing golds.

well i dunno, i didn't give it much thought really. if they were ex plat you can solo out of silver. ;) dunno why someone needs help. but yeah, i get where youre coming from detective. ;p
