HELP!! Wanting to start a league of legends High School Tournament

Zephÿr··1 votes·342 views

Alright to basically sum it up, it's my senior year of high school and i've been gathering other highschool league players from different highschools in So Cal. There are currently have 5 teams who are willing to participate, but hopefully we would ideally want 8 in order to just start off from quarter finals. Out of state highschools are able to play too but the timezone difference might impact the schedule. We were also curious on how we would be able to allow riot to make this tournament "official", with us being highschoolers and all our knowledge is only limited, and by official we mean having a prize pool of rp or triumphant ryze in order to give incentive and a competitive feel to the tournament. But if there are any tips on how to make this happen or if you would like to participate, comment or dm me!!!

the prize pools are brought in by entry money or the host of the tournament, as for making official contact riot HQ

So I was told from a fellow redditor that I can make an event on this link https://events.na.leagueoflegends.com/ As far as I have done I haven't really looked into it yet since I'm not on my computer at the moment, but the idea of parkticipation fee is a good idea.

Unfortunately, the rp and Ryze skin from riot is EU only now. :( As for actually gathering teams, I know there's currently a big high school league running right now, don't know the exact details though. :p you can use battlefy or challonge to make your bracket if you just wanna do a tourny. I run low elo leagues, so feel free to msg me with questions or any help you might need. :)

Awww that's a shame, but if it's possible can you give me info on how you do your tournaments and maybe I can participate with some friends!

Damn, this sounds fun! I'm two states above Cal so I think times zones aren't a big problem for me. I am gonna ask for updates, hopefully you wont mind that.

If you are interested private message me, and if you can invite other teams around your area so the more the better.

For sure, if you can contact other schools around your area we can make the tournament bigger, we would do a practice tournament to see how smooth it goes, then actually charge $5 per person on each team to create a prize pool.

why just limit it to high school? your going to run into a problem with getting actual teams together in time. most people will be making a team just for this competition. with that in mind you might want to think about looking for solo players and just running a team draft a month before the tournament. i think you would get more participation this way which means a bigger prize pool.
