Masters+ and looking for a team? Give this a read
Hello and welcome! While some of you may know me, most of you reading this won't, so I will introduce myself. I am "Bot" and I am currently the LoL manager for Mischief Esports. I am writing this in part to address the growing "burning bridges" culture in the amateur LoL scene, and also in part to promote some tryouts I am holding. So without further delay, happy reading.
Recently I have been seeing a growing trend in the amateur scene which I like to think of as a burning bridges culture. Teams are picking up players with no intention of developing them, dropping rosters after hard losses, making promises that are impossible to keep, and in general being poor examples of what teams should strive to provide for the growing number of players looking to have a career in league. On the other side of the coin, players are leaving teams in poor fashion, flaming people of different viewpoints, and generally making a bad name for themselves as a potential player for a LoL team. This general disregard for others is extremely confusing, as most of us are working towards the same end goal. I am not saying that every team, player, or organization is guilty of this because that is simply untrue. But I have have seen enough of this behavior in the past couple of months to really make me reconsider what it means to be in the amateur scene. I thinking about this I would like to give some simple advice that everyone can utilize.
Have realistic expectations about what your goals are. Not every player is the next Faker, and not every organisation can be SKT1. Understanding what you can and can't do can save you more trouble down the road than you might think. Rome was not built in a day, and a career in league takes much more time than most are willing to give. But if you stick with it and have the right mindset, things might just turn out okay. Speaking of mindset, If you are not willing to give something your best effort, then their is really no point in doing it. Don't start a team if you are going to lose interest, and don't join a team if you lack motivation. Motivation alone can get you through a lot, especially if like what you are doing. I am not going to drop some cheesy line about having fun all the time because people don't have fun all the time. Teams take hard work and sometimes it will suck. But if you do not enjoy what you are doing at the end of the day, then don't do it. Seriously, go do something else because if you don't like doing it then their is no way in hell you are going to put in enough time and effort to ever make a future out of it. If you seriously reflect on just a couple of these things before talking with any players or teams, it can benefit everyone involved. So to all high elo players and teams, question everything, especially yourself. Thank you for reading through my rant, what comes next is addressed specifically at those of you who are looking for a team but have not considered Mischief yet, and may not be relatable if you are not a Masters+ player.
After carefully writing and considering all of the above, I would like to fully extend my hand to any player that is currently Masters+ and looking for a team. I am going to be as transparent and blunt as possible about what I have to offer. We are not a big name organisation, we are not going to throw endless amounts of money at you to fulfill all your wildest dreams, and we are definitely not going to tolerate players who are not giving us 110%. What we are is a small org dedicated to putting players first. I will be doing absolutely everything in my power to grow you as a player. I will not make any promises as to where we end up because that is up to the players. If you give me your all, our talented and dedicated coaching staff will turn you into a machine capable of going toe to toe with even the best of teams. Winning is fun, but watching a player grow and develop and really shine is what I am about. I want to take you to the NACS and watch you succeed, so I will be doing as much as I can to keep you in a stress free environment where all you have to do is show up and learn. No player was born #1, but we would like to take your talent and develop it, and mold you into something more. I will be putting my all into this coming roster, and I expect every player that signs up to do the same, no excuses. We already have a fair amount of people coming to the tryouts, and only a very small amount of you will make the team. That being said, your time is valuable so before you sign up or come to tryouts, please get in touch with me either in the comments or in game and talk to me about the team. I will answer any questions you might have, and seriously will bring the head coach into a discord lobby and the three of us can talk about anything you like if you are skeptical about our dedication in the least. Only click the below link if you are Masters+, Non-Toxic, and are going to give me 110% if selected. Mischief and myself are aiming very high for 2017, will you join us? https://goo.gl/forms/AYIF27Hc3osgY1P83
