why would you prefer people that play elise and kha if they're not even great right now?

What XG MOS is eluding to is you can nerf a character into the ground but the champion's skills set "could" still make the champion viable anyways (ie. Lee Sin would be the best example since season 1, Thresh is my current favorite example for Season 4).
