I havent seen much of any adc mid, therse a lot to worry about, mainly your low mobility. Xayah might be a beast in the mid at least in lower elos since her waveclear is great and she does have her ult, so that'd make her much harder to gank, so really I think its one of those thigns thats just kinda situational. it might be a good idea to play her as an adc first to really understand her kit and what she can or can't do, and then move on from there.

I used to main Ahri mid but now I main Xayah adc, and although I have never taken her mid, I can't imagine that she would do well at all.

  • It takes time to set up her combo, and most burst mages/assassins don't give her time for this.

  • Xayah has terrible mobility: it's very difficult to chase which is why she really needs a support to help her pin down and secure kills, especially early game. Most midlaners have a means of escaping/outplay which means that Xayah would have to rely heavily on ganks to gain kill participation.

  • She doesn't have any defense except for her mini-snare and ultimate. Her snare can be somewhat unreliable against skilled players with mobility, and burning her ult for an escape might leave her alive but's a long cooldown and is definitely NOT something Xayah should spam...so getting ganked by the enemy would mean almost certain death or essential cooldowns burnt, especially if you are out too far.

  • Xayah has great (and fun!) waveclear but I can't picture her ganking other lanes very easily since she has no mobility and has a difficult time chasing. She has to be relatively near her target (so that she can dish out feathers behind them), so unless there is a support that can close the gap she won't be able to do much. Basically everything would have to go perfectly or else she dies or loses pressure mid for no reason.

If you want to play Xayah I highly recommend her, but I recommend playing her where she belongs. She's a lot of fun :)

she is an adc any other roles you play her in is sub optimal and you can do it for sure but you are putting yourself behind by playing her mid

I've never heard of her as a mid lane, she is almost always played bottom. Anything can work though.
