Don't duo with a smurf...

It's one thing to duo with a gold to at least try to earn your way up to their level, but a smurf is just getting it handed over to you.

Try to at least have one champ you're good at for each role. When starting out I was all over the place and didn't have a set main, now I'd say I've got one main and four 'side' mains. Work with your team. If you're first pick and everyone is calling for the common roles, grab a role that wasn't called. If you're good enough to carry, you should be able to carry from any position, so it's best to let those that might not be good enough to carry have their position so they play better. When banning, ban popular and problematic solo queue champions. They constantly change as the sheep tend to have small attention spans. Currently I'd say yasuo, jinx, and gnar are good bans.

Personally I like to avoid duoing as much as I can. I think it takes away from the 'solo' aspect of solo ranked.
