How do people claim to be stuck?

Last season I reached my all time high of plat 5. Although I honestly believe I got carried from gold 1 - plat 5, I definitely did earn that ranking.

Now I started the season and did AWFUL in placements. I ended them going 4-6 getting placed in silver 2. I was able to immediately climb to gold 5, and after a short amount of time up to gold 2. This all took place over the course of 50 games.

I've seen many people that were mid plat last season claiming to be "stuck" in silver. A lot of them get placed in silver 1-2 and have played 100+ games and are STILL silver 1-2. How can this be so? You got to plat last season and now you can't get out of silver? Why is it that I have multiple accounts in gold+ that I got without effort, yet these people can't get the ranking they were last season?

I need explanations D=

Not all of us are fortunate to get teammates who want to win like you

Team mates don't matter as much as you think they do if you are good enough to climb.

Not when you get people who troll or feed after first blood, feelsbadman

It happens at all elos, if you are consistently good you will climb, it just takes time. Don't expect to play 20-40 games and be at your true MMR, expect to play 100-200, but within 60 or so you should be somewhat close to your MMR.

first of all not everyone knows how to play the game correctly even pro players will not win every game. now i can do pretty well in lane with tank top laners doesn't mean im going to to do well in the rest of the game if the enemy team is just that fed at sub 20mins. picking picks random things that dont contribute to the comp. now i myself i love playing tryndamere to split push because people at least gold to plat level which i play against are so kill hungry they forget about turrets. when i take 6 turrets and my team takes 0 theres something clearly wrong.

I'll do you one better, im in bronze 5, ive been in bronze 5 for 2 seasons and highest ive been is bronze 3. I never bothered to learn the game outside of just get kills and throw myself at turrets until i win or lose, thats how it is in that elo. Ive only bothered learning champs not the game itself so there were some games where i went 13/0/16 and still lost. Its all TDM in these ELOs and the few people who are starting to learn the game itself (like me finally) are few and far in between the people who just make it a deathmatch game, ive had 4 games where people only wanted to push when we got an ace and each team got aced a lot. So thats one explanation.

Not really sure your point but I want to hang out in that elo. TDM sounds fun.

Most of my games are close, I'm the only silver in gold games. Although I was plat last season. While I choose mid/support for my roles I usually get support which is fine. But my solo laners get outclassed constantly. Not saying it's going to happen every game if I continue to grind, but I feel like I shouldn't be fighting this hard to get out of Silver 1.

It's a lot better now that Riot has tweaked their player behavior and leave buster systems, than it used to be. I still remember back in season 3 having a 20 game losing streak, where every game was a 3v5 or 4v5 due to disconnects or rage quits on my team. Was so sad, and nothing really I could do about it. Still possible to get unlucky streaks like that, although Riot's kicked some ass and it's a lot better now!

Also, the role you play makes it easier/harder to carry depending on what mmr band you're trying to climb through. You'll have a lot harder time climbing out of bronze as a Janna main than you would in diamond just due to differences in what the playerbase knows and how they play. Same concept with why MasterYi is a terror in low mmr, but rarely seen in high mmr (he's generally countered by skill/game knowledge).

My $0.02!

TL DR; There are reasons.

Eh I dont get how someone who is supposed to be 2 tiers higher would have trouble ranking up. Granted you have to realize silver 2 isn't really silver 2 right now. Its still mostly gold players. Granted, mostly gold 4-silver 1 players now so ex. plat players should rank up easy. If they really have played 100+ games and were plat then I assume they had someone level their account.

If i tried and was stuck in bronze for 100+ games then I would have a lot of inner looking to do. But... that is not that case so whatever!!

There are former master tier players that are stuck on d5 on their smurfs but can get back into masters on their mains or vice versa on their accounts.

I switched to support this season after taking a year off (only mained adc before) and was placed Gold 4... went into this season with the right mindset and now I'm D4
