I have had so many bad experiences with pick up games I really want to play with a group of people that I can get to know. I am level 28 and I am still learning but I am teachable, mature and I strive to be helpful.
I am interested in a team. I am unranked but working hard to get to ranked.

I believe that hopping into ranked as soon as you reach lvl 30 is not best idea.
You should work at basics. Farm, warding, trading, to know when to engage. Basically develop good decision making.
Though learning this takes time and patience. Really important ting to learn is farming. If you are forced to lane make sure you have at least 70cs by 10 min.
You can train this in custom games.

thats all very helpful thanks very much. I would still like to play with people I know. You might be right about the ranked, what is important to me is playing the game with people that are my peers and who I can get to know and communicate better with than the average pub gamer with no skype or voice comms.
